2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people,(A) for not everyone has faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful,(B) and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.(C) 4 We have confidence(D) in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command.

2 Bittet Gott auch darum, er möge uns vor den Angriffen niederträchtiger und boshafter Menschen schützen; denn nicht jeder will an den Herrn glauben.
3 Der Herr aber ist treu. Er wird euch Kraft geben und euch vor dem Bösen[a] bewahren. 4 Im Vertrauen auf den Herrn sind wir zuversichtlich, dass ihr euch jetzt und in Zukunft an unsere Anweisungen haltet.
