Guds ark förs till Jerusalem
6 Åter samlade David alla de utvalda i Israel, trettiotusen man. 2 David bröt upp och drog åstad med allt sitt folk från Baale-Juda för att därifrån föra upp Guds ark som hade uppkallats efter Namnet, namnet Herren Sebaot, honom som tronar på keruberna. 3 De satte Guds ark på en ny vagn och förde den bort från Abinadabs hus på höjden, och Ussa och Ahjo, Abinadabs söner, körde den nya vagnen. 4 Så förde de Guds ark bort ifrån Abinadabs hus på höjden, och Ahjo gick framför arken. 5 David och hela Israels hus dansade och gladde sig inför Herrens ansikte med alla slags instrument av cypressträ, med harpor, psaltare, pukor, skallror och cymbaler.
6 Men när de kom till Nakons tröskplats, räckte Ussa ut handen mot Guds ark och grep tag i den, ty oxarna snavade. 7 Då upptändes Herrens vrede mot Ussa, och Gud slog honom där för hans försyndelse. Och han dog där vid Guds ark. 8 David blev upprörd över att Herren hade brutit ner Ussa.[a] Han kallade det stället Peres-Ussa, som det heter än i dag.
9 David greps av fruktan för Herren på den dagen och sade: "Hur skulle Herrens ark kunna komma till mig?" 10 Därför ville David inte föra in Herrens ark till sig i Davids stad utan lät ställa den i gatiten Obed-Edoms hus. 11 Sedan blev Herrens ark kvar i gatiten Obed-Edoms hus i tre månader. Och Herren välsignade Obed-Edom och hela hans hus.
12 Det blev berättat för kung David att Herren hade välsignat Obed-Edoms hus och allt vad han ägde, för Guds arks skull. Då gick David och förde Guds ark ur Obed-Edoms hus upp till Davids stad under jubel. 13 När de som bar Herrens ark hade gått sex steg framåt, offrade han en tjur och en gödkalv. 14 Själv dansade David med all kraft inför Herrens ansikte, och David var iklädd en linne-efod. 15 Så hämtade David och hela Israel Herrens ark dit upp under jubel och basuners ljud.
16 När Herrens ark kom in i Davids stad, såg Mikal, Sauls dotter, ut genom fönstret, och när hon såg kung David hoppa och dansa inför Herrens ansikte, föraktade hon honom i sitt hjärta.
17 När de hade fört in Herrens ark och ställt den på dess plats mitt i det tält som David hade slagit upp åt den, offrade David brännoffer och gemenskapsoffer inför Herrens ansikte. 18 Och när David hade offrat brännoffret och gemenskapsoffret, välsignade han folket i Herren Sebaots namn. 19 Åt allt folket, hela skaran av israeliter, både man och kvinna, gav han en kaka bröd, en dadelkaka och en druvkaka. Sedan gick allt folket hem, var och en till sitt.
20 När David återvände hem för att välsigna sitt husfolk, gick Mikal, Sauls dotter, ut mot honom och sade. "Hur härlig har inte Israels konung visat sig i dag, då han blottat sig inför ögonen på sina tjänares slavkvinnor, så som lössläppt folk gör!" 21 Då sade David till Mikal: "Det var inför Herren, han som har utvalt mig framför din far och hela hans hus och som har insatt mig till furste över Herrens folk Israel, ja, inför Herren dansade och gladde jag mig. 22 Jag skall bli ännu ringare än detta och förnedrad i egna ögon. Men med slavkvinnorna som du talade om, tillsammans med dem skall jag bli ärad."
23 Och Mikal, Sauls dotter, fick inte några barn så länge hon levde.

20 大卫回去要给自己的家人祝福。扫罗的女儿米甲出来迎见大卫，说：“以色列王今天多么荣耀啊！他今天竟在众臣仆的婢女眼前，赤身露体，就像一个卑贱的人无耻地露体一样。” 21 大卫对米甲说：“我是在耶和华面前跳舞（《马索拉文本》无“跳舞”；现参照《七十士译本》补上）；耶和华拣选了我，使我高过你父亲和他的全家，立我作耶和华的子民以色列的领袖，所以我要在耶和华面前跳舞作乐。 22 我还要比今天这样更卑贱，我要自视卑微（按照《七十士译本》，“自视卑微”作“在你的眼中看为卑微”）。至于你所说的那些婢女，她们倒要尊重我。” 23 扫罗的女儿米甲，一直到她死的日子，都没有生育。

6 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.
3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.
4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
8 And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and said, How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?
10 So David would not remove the ark of the Lord unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
11 And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household.
12 And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.
14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
17 And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.
19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord.
22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Saindo da casa, Uzá e Aiô, filhos de Abinadabe, a carroça nova 4 que transportava a arca de Deus.[c] Aiô estava à frente da arca. 5 Davi e todo o povo de Israel celebravam diante do Senhor, entoando cânticos[d] e tocando todo tipo de instrumentos musicais: liras, harpas, tamborins, chocalhos e címbalos.
6 Quando chegaram à eira de Nacom, os bois tropeçaram, e Uzá estendeu a mão e segurou a arca. 7 A ira do Senhor se acendeu contra Uzá, e Deus o feriu por causa disso.[e] E ele morreu ali mesmo, ao lado da arca de Deus.
8 Davi ficou indignado porque a ira do Senhor irrompeu contra Uzá e chamou aquele lugar de Perez-Uzá,[f] como é conhecido até hoje.
9 Davi teve medo do Senhor e perguntou: “Como poderei levar a arca do Senhor?”. 10 Então resolveu não transferir mais a arca do Senhor para a Cidade de Davi. Em vez disso, levou-a para a casa de Obede-Edom, na cidade de Gate. 11 A arca do Senhor ficou na casa de Obede-Edom, em Gate, por três meses, e o Senhor abençoou Obede-Edom e toda a sua família.
12 Disseram ao rei Davi: “O Senhor tem abençoado a família de Obede-Edom e tudo que ele possui por causa da arca de Deus”. Então Davi foi até lá e, com grande festa, levou a arca de Deus da casa de Obede-Edom para a Cidade de Davi. 13 Quando os homens que carregavam a arca do Senhor davam seis passos, Davi sacrificava um boi e um novilho gordo. 14 Davi usava um colete sacerdotal de linho e dançava diante do Senhor com todas as suas forças. 15 Assim, Davi e todo o povo de Israel levaram a arca do Senhor com gritos de alegria e ao som de trombetas.

16 Enquanto a arca do Senhor entrava na Cidade de Davi, Mical, filha de Saul, olhava pela janela. Quando viu o rei Davi saltando e dançando diante do Senhor, encheu-se de desprezo por ele.
17 Trouxeram a arca do Senhor e a colocaram em seu lugar, dentro de uma tenda especial que Davi tinha preparado para ela. E Davi ofereceu ao Senhor holocaustos e ofertas de paz. 18 Depois que terminou de oferecer os sacrifícios, abençoou o povo em nome do Senhor dos Exércitos. 19 Para cada homem e mulher israelita na multidão, ele deu um pão, um bolo de tâmaras[g] e um bolo de passas. Então todos voltaram para casa.
20 Quando Davi voltou para casa a fim de abençoar sua família, Mical, filha de Saul, saiu ao encontro dele e disse: “Como o rei de Israel se mostrou digno de honra hoje, exibindo-se sem qualquer vergonha diante das servas, como um homem vulgar!”.
21 Davi respondeu a Mical: “Eu dançava diante do Senhor, que me escolheu em lugar de seu pai e de toda a sua família! Ele me nomeou líder de Israel, o povo do Senhor, por isso continuarei a celebrar diante do Senhor. 22 Estou disposto a me tornar ainda mais desprezível e até mesmo a ser humilhado aos meus próprios olhos! Mas as servas que você mencionou certamente me considerarão digno de honra”. 23 E Mical, filha de Saul, não teve filhos até o final de sua vida.
