Jonatan, Sauls son, hade en son som var förlamad i fötterna. Han var fem år när nyheten om Saul och Jonatan kom från Jisreel och hans sköterska tog honom och flydde. Men under hennes skyndsamma flykt föll han och blev halt. Han hette Mefiboset.

Now Saul’s son had two men who were leaders of raiding bands. One was named Baanah and the other Rekab; they were sons of Rimmon the Beerothite from the tribe of Benjamin—Beeroth(A) is considered part of Benjamin, because the people of Beeroth fled to Gittaim(B) and have resided there as foreigners to this day.

And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin.

And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)

And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
