13 Al ritorno dalla sua vittoria sui Siri, Davide si acquistò ancora fama sconfiggendo nella valle del Sale diciottomila Idumei. 14 Pose delle guarnigioni in Idumea; ne mise per tutta l’Idumea e tutti gli Edomiti divennero sudditi di Davide, e il Signore rendeva Davide vittorioso dovunque egli andasse.

New International Version
13 And David became famous(A) after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites[a] in the Valley of Salt.(B)
14 He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites(C) became subject to David.(D) The Lord gave David victory(E) wherever he went.(F)
