God’s Covenant with David

⁸ “Now therefore, thus you shall say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “^(A)I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, ^(B)to be ruler over My people Israel.

⁴⁸ Then the king ^[a](A)promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts, and he made him ruler over the whole ^(B)province of Babylon and chief ^[b]prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

⁵ Listen, ^(A)my beloved brethren: did not ^(B)God choose the poor ^[a]of this world to be ^(C)rich in faith and ^(D)heirs of the kingdom which He ^(E)promised to those who love Him?
