⁹ David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, “How^(A) can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?”

¹¹ Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.^[a](A)

¹² David was afraid of God that day and asked, “How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”

²⁰ And the people of Beth Shemesh asked, “Who can stand^(A) in the presence of the Lord, this holy^(B) God? To whom will the ark go up from here?”

¹⁰ So they sent the ark of God to Ekron.^(A)

As the ark of God was entering Ekron, the people of Ekron cried out, “They have brought the ark of the god of Israel around to us to kill us and our people.” ¹¹ So they called together all the rulers^(B) of the Philistines and said, “Send the ark of the god of Israel away; let it go back to its own place, or it^[a] will kill us and our people.” For death had filled the city with panic; God’s hand was very heavy on it.

¹² The Israelites said to Moses, “We will die! We are lost, we are all lost!^{(A) 13} Anyone who even comes near the tabernacle of the Lord will die.^(B) Are we all going to die?”

⁸ When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”^{(A) 9} For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,

⁵ “Woe^(A) to me!” I cried. “I am ruined!^(B) For I am a man of unclean lips,^(C) and I live among a people of unclean lips,^(D) and my eyes have seen^(E) the King,^(F) the Lord Almighty.”^(G)
