8 Trajeron la cabeza de Is-boset a David en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: He aquí la cabeza de Is-boset, hijo de tu enemigo Saúl, el que buscaba tu vida(A); de esta manera el Señor ha concedido hoy a mi señor el rey venganza sobre Saúl y sus descendientes[a].
9 Respondiendo David a Recab y a su hermano Baana, hijos de Rimón beerotita, les dijo: Vive el Señor que ha redimido mi vida de toda angustia(B), 10 que cuando uno me avisó, diciendo: «He aquí, Saúl ha muerto», pensando que me traía buenas noticias[b], yo lo prendí y lo maté en Siclag, lo cual fue el pago que le di por sus noticias(C).

New International Version
8 They brought the head(A) of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul,(B) your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged(C) my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”
9 David answered Rekab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, “As surely as the Lord lives, who has delivered(D) me out of every trouble, 10 when someone told me, ‘Saul is dead,’ and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag.(E) That was the reward I gave him for his news!
