²⁴Joab fue ante el rey y le dijo:

—¿Qué ha hecho usted? ¡Abner vino y usted lo dejó irse como si nada! ²⁵Su Majestad lo conoce y bien sabe que vino con engaño para averiguar dónde está usted y todo lo que usted está haciendo.

²⁶Después de hablar con David, Joab envió a unos mensajeros para que buscaran a Abner en el pozo de Sira. Lo hallaron y lo trajeron sin que David lo supiera.

²⁴Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

²⁵Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

²⁶And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

²⁶Joab then left David and sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the cistern at Sirah. But David did not know it.
