    and devouring fire from his mouth;

    and plague followed close behind.^(A)

²⁷ See, the name of the Lord comes from far away,
    his anger burning and his burden heavy;^[a]
his lips are full of indignation,
    and his tongue is like a devouring fire;^(A)

³ Fire goes before him
    and consumes his adversaries on every side.^(A)
4 His lightnings light up the world;
    the earth sees and trembles.
⁵ The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
    before the Lord of all the earth.^(B)

    and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at your rebuke, O Lord,
