⁷ And David said to him, “Do not fear, ^(A)for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and ^(B)you shall eat at my table always.”

David's Kindness to Mephibosheth

9 And David said, “Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may ^(A)show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?”

⁷ But deal loyally with the sons of ^(A)Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be ^(B)among those who eat at your table, ^(C)for with such loyalty^[a] they met me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

³ And the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, that I may show ^(A)the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of ^(B)Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet.”

²⁸ For all my father's house were but men doomed to death before my lord the king, but ^(A)you set your servant among those who eat at your table. What further right have I, then, to cry to the king?”

²⁹ But ^(A)she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. ³⁰ And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for ^(B)you have found favor with God.

¹¹ But Boaz answered her, ^(A)“All that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband has been fully told to me, and how you left your father and mother and your native land and came to a people that you did not know before. ^12 (B)The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!”

^30 (A)that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and ^(B)sit on thrones judging ^(C)the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹² And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and ^(A)fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for ^(B)your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and ^(C)you shall call his name John.

³³ But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. ³⁴ And he said to her, “Daughter, ^(A)your faith has made you well; ^(B)go in peace, and be healed of your ^(C)disease.”
