¹⁰ then Toi sent ^[a]Joram his son to King David, to ^[b]greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him (for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi); and Joram brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze.

39 At ^(B)that time ^[a]Merodach-Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered.

¹⁰ he sent ^[a]Hadoram his son to King David, to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and ^[b]defeated him (for Hadadezer had been at war with Tou); and Hadoram brought with him all kinds of ^(A)articles of gold, silver, and bronze.

⁴⁷ And moreover the king’s servants have gone to bless our lord King David, saying, ^(A)‘May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and may He make his throne greater than your throne.’ ^(B)Then the king bowed himself on the bed.

¹⁰ Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might ^[a]greet him.

²⁷ Then he asked them about their well-being, and said, “Is your father well, the old man ^(A)of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”
