¹⁴ Wearing a linen ephod,^(A) David was dancing^(B) before the Lord with all his might,

¹⁸ But Samuel was ministering^(A) before the Lord—a boy wearing a linen ephod.^(B)

²⁰ Then Miriam^(A) the prophet,^(B) Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels^(C) and dancing.^(D)

³⁴ When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing^(A) to the sound of timbrels!^(B) She was an only child.^(C) Except for her he had neither son nor daughter.

²³ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
