²⁵ You know that Abner the son of Ner came to deceive you and to know ^(A)your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing.”

⁶ Blessed shall you be ^(A)when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

God's Righteous Judgment

2 Therefore you have ^(A)no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For ^(B)in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.

⁴⁷ The Pharisees answered them, ^(A)“Have you also been deceived?

¹² And there was much ^(A)muttering about him among the people. ^(B)While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, ^(C)he is leading the people astray.”

³² until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, ^(A)a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and ^(B)honey, that you may live, and not die. And do not listen to Hezekiah when he misleads you by saying, “The Lord will deliver us.”

³ But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city and to spy it out and to overthrow it?”

²⁷ And when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him privately, ^(A)and there he struck him ^(B)in the stomach, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
