¹¹ Now when David arose in the morning, the word of the Lord came to the prophet ^(A)Gad, David’s ^(B)seer, saying,

⁵ Now the prophet ^(A)Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold; depart, and go to the land of Judah.” So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth.

⁹ (Formerly in Israel, when a man ^(A)went ^[a]to inquire of God, he spoke thus: “Come, let us go to the seer”; for he who is now called a prophet was formerly called ^(B)a seer.)

²⁹ Now the acts of King David, first and last, indeed they are written in the ^[a]book of Samuel the seer, in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

¹⁹ When Azubah died, Caleb ^[a]took ^(A)Ephrath^[b] as his wife, who bore him Hur.
