¹⁷ for he said, “The Lord forbid that I should do this. Can I drink the blood of the men who went at the risk of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three warriors did these things.^(A)

Eating Blood Prohibited

¹⁰ “If anyone of the house of Israel or of the aliens who reside among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut that person off from the people.^(A)

³⁰ And why are we putting ourselves in danger every hour?^(A)

⁵² The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”^{(A) 53} So Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.^{(B) 54} Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day,^(C)

²⁴ He said to them, “This is my blood of the^[a] covenant, which is poured out for many.^(A)

²⁸ for this is my blood of the^[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.^(A)

³ But Naboth said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid that I should give you my ancestral inheritance.”^(A)

²⁰ Joab answered, “Far be it from me, far be it, that I should swallow up or destroy!

¹¹ The Lord forbid that I should raise my hand against the Lord’s anointed, but now take the spear that is at his head and the water jar, and let us go.”^(A)
