⁶ And when Saul inquired of the Lord, ^(A)the Lord did not answer him, either by ^(B)dreams or ^(C)by Urim or by the prophets.

^25 (A)When once the Master of the house has risen up and ^(B)shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ^(C)‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ^(D)‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ ²⁶ then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’

²² Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we ^(A)not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ ²³ And ^(B)then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; ^(C)depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

³ “Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,” says the Lord God, ^(A)“I will not be inquired of by you.” ’
