⁷ So Joab’s men, with the ^(A)Cherethites, the Pelethites, and ^(B)all the mighty men, went out after him. And they went out of Jerusalem to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.

^18 (A)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the ^(B)Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were ^[a]chief ministers.

³⁸ So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, ^(A)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the ^(B)Cherethites, and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David’s mule, and took him to Gihon.

¹⁸ Then all his servants passed ^[a]before him; ^(A)and all the Cherethites, all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, ^(B)six hundred men who had followed him from Gath, passed before the king.

⁴⁴ The king has sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites; and they have made him ride on the king’s mule.

²² These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did, and won a name among three mighty men. ²³ He was more honored than the thirty, but he did not attain to the first three. And David appointed him ^(A)over his guard.
