¹⁹ Asahel pursued Abner, turning neither to the right nor to the left as he followed him.

² He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the way of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.^(A)

²¹ Abner said to him, “Turn to your right or to your left, and seize one of the young men, and take his spoil.” But Asahel would not turn away from following him.

⁶ Therefore be very steadfast to observe and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, turning aside from it neither to the right nor to the left,^(A)

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to act in accordance with all the law that my servant Moses commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, so that you may be successful wherever you go.^(A)
