²¹ But Ittai answered the king and said, ^(A)“As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in whatever place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also your servant will be.”

¹⁶ But Ruth said:

³⁰ And the mother of the child said, ^(A)“As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not ^(B)leave you.” So he arose and followed her.

³ I do not say this to condemn; for ^(A)I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.

¹³ Then Paul answered, ^(A)“What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

²³ When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and ^(A)encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

^66 (A)From that time many of His disciples went ^[a]back and walked with Him no more. ⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

⁶⁸ But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have ^(B)the words of eternal life. ^69 (C)Also we have come to believe and know that You are the ^[b]Christ, the Son of the living God.”

^19 (A)Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”

²⁰ And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
