³² And Absalom answered Joab, “Look, I sent to you, saying, ‘Come here, so that I may send you to the king, to say, “Why have I come from Geshur? It would be better for me to be there still.” ’ Now therefore, let me see the king’s face; but ^(A)if there is iniquity in me, let him execute me.”

⁸ Therefore you shall ^(A)deal kindly with your servant, for ^(B)you have brought your servant into a covenant of the Lord with you. Nevertheless, ^(C)if there is iniquity in me, kill me yourself, for why should you bring me to your father?”

^12 (A)Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever ^(A)the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that ^(B)every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become ^[a]guilty before God.

⁴⁴ “Then they also will answer ^[a]Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

¹³ Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him, ^(A)“Blessed are you of the Lord! I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”
