¹⁵ But when the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they gathered themselves together.

¹⁹ Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army.^{(A) 20} And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed in its presence the signs by which he deceived those who had received the brand of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were killed by the sword of the rider on the horse, the sword that came from his mouth, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

² For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped; half the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.^{(A) 3} Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.^(B)
