El milagro del aceite
4 Una mujer, casada con uno de la comunidad de profetas, fue a suplicar a Eliseo:
— Mi marido, servidor tuyo, ha muerto; y tú sabes que era un hombre religioso. Ahora ha venido el acreedor a llevarse a mis dos hijos como esclavos. 2 Eliseo le dijo:
— ¿Qué puedo hacer por ti? Dime qué tienes en casa.
Ella respondió:
— Sólo me queda en casa una alcuza de aceite.
3 Eliseo le dijo:
— Sal a pedir vasijas a todas tus vecinas, vasijas vacías en abundancia. 4 Cuando vuelvas, te encierras en casa con tus hijos, empiezas a echar aceite en todas esas vasijas y pones aparte las llenas.
5 La mujer se marchó y se encerró en casa con sus hijos. Ellos le acercaban las vasijas, y ella echaba el aceite. 6 Cuando llenó todas las vasijas, pidió a uno de sus hijos:
— Acércame otra vasija.
Pero él le dijo:
— Ya no quedan más.
Entonces se agotó el aceite. 7 La mujer fue a contárselo al profeta y este le dijo:
— Ahora vende el aceite, paga a tu acreedor y con el resto podréis vivir tú y tus hijos.
Eliseo y la sunamita
8 Un día Eliseo pasó por Sunán y una mujer rica que vivía allí le insistió para que se quedase a comer. Desde entonces, cada vez que pasaba por allí, se detenía a comer. 9 La mujer dijo a su marido:
— Mira, creo que ese que nos visita cada vez que pasa es un profeta santo. 10 Vamos a construirle en la terraza una habitación pequeña con una cama, una mesa, una silla y un candil, para que se aloje en ella cuando venga a visitarnos.
11 Un día que Eliseo llegó allí, subió a la terraza y se acostó en la habitación. 12 Luego dijo a su criado Guejazí:
— Llama a esa sunamita.
Él la llamó y cuando se presentó ante él, 13 Eliseo ordenó a su criado que le dijese:
— Ya que te has tomado todas estas molestias por nosotros, dinos qué podemos hacer por ti. ¿Necesitas pedir algo al rey o al jefe del ejército?
Pero ella respondió:
— Vivo a gusto entre mi gente.
14 Eliseo insistió:
— ¿Qué podríamos hacer por ella?
Entonces Guejazí sugirió:
— No sé. No tiene hijos y su marido es viejo.
15 Eliseo dijo:
— Llámala.
La llamó y ella se quedó en la puerta. 16 Eliseo le dijo:
— El año que viene por estas fechas estarás abrazando a un hijo.
Ella respondió:
— ¡No, señor mío, hombre de Dios! ¡No engañes a tu servidora!
17 Pero la mujer quedó embarazada y dio a luz un hijo al año siguiente por aquellas fechas, tal como le había anunciado Eliseo.
18 El niño creció. Un día, en que salió a ver a su padre que estaba con los segadores, 19 le dijo:
— ¡Me estalla la cabeza!
El padre ordenó a un criado:
— Llévaselo a su madre.
20 El criado lo llevó a su madre y ella lo tuvo sentado en su regazo hasta el mediodía. Pero el niño murió. 21 La mujer lo subió, lo acostó en la cama del profeta, cerró la puerta y salió. 22 Luego llamó a su marido y le dijo:
— Mándame a un criado con una burra; quiero ir corriendo a ver al profeta y regresaré inmediatamente.
23 Él le preguntó:
— ¿Cómo es que vas a visitarlo hoy, si no es luna nueva ni sábado?
Ella contestó:
— No te preocupes.
24 La mujer aparejó la burra y ordenó a su criado:
— Llévame, camina y no me detengas hasta que yo te lo ordene.
25 Partió y llegó al monte Carmelo, donde estaba el profeta. Al verla de lejos, el profeta dijo a su criado Guejazí:
— Por ahí viene la sunamita. 26 Corre a su encuentro y pregúntale como están ella, su marido y su hijo.
Ella respondió:
— Estamos bien.
27 Cuando llegó al monte en donde estaba el profeta, ella se abrazó a sus pies. Guejazí se acercó para apartarla, pero el profeta le dijo:
— Déjala, que está llena de amargura. El Señor me lo había ocultado, sin hacérmelo saber.
28 Ella le dijo:
— ¿Acaso te pedí yo un hijo? ¿No te advertí que no me engañaras?
29 Eliseo ordenó a Guejazí:
— Prepárate, coge mi bastón y ponte en camino. Si encuentras a alguien, no lo saludes; y si alguien te saluda, no le respondas. Luego pones mi bastón en la cara del niño.
30 La madre del niño le dijo:
— Juro por el Señor y por tu vida, que no me iré sin ti.
Entonces Eliseo se levantó y partió detrás de ella. 31 Guejazí se les había adelantado y había puesto el bastón sobre la cara del niño, pero no obtuvo respuesta ni señales de vida. Entonces salió al encuentro de Eliseo y le dijo:
— El niño no ha despertado.
32 Eliseo entró en la casa y encontró al niño muerto y acostado en su cama. 33 Pasó a la habitación, cerró la puerta tras de sí y se puso a orar al Señor. 34 Luego se subió a la cama y se tendió sobre el niño, poniendo boca sobre boca, ojos sobre ojos y manos sobre manos. Mientras estaba tendido sobre él, el cuerpo del niño empezó a entrar en calor. 35 Eliseo se bajó y se puso a andar de un lado para otro. Luego volvió a subirse y a tenderse sobre él. Entonces el niño estornudó siete veces y abrió los ojos. 36 Entonces Eliseo llamó a Guejazí y le dijo:
— Llama a la sunamita.
La llamó, y ella se presentó ante Eliseo, que le dijo:
— Toma a tu hijo.
37 Ella se acercó, se echó a sus pies, le hizo una reverencia, tomó al niño y se fue.
La comida envenenada
38 Eliseo regresó a Guilgal y por entonces había mucha hambre en la región. Los profetas estaban sentados a su alrededor y él ordenó a su criado:
— Pon al fuego la olla grande y prepara un guiso para los profetas.
39 Uno de ellos salió al campo a recoger hierbas, encontró un arbusto silvestre y llenó su manto con sus frutos. Cuando volvió, los troceó y los echó a la olla del guisado sin saber lo que era. 40 Cuando sirvieron la comida a los hombres y probaron el guiso, se pusieron a gritar:
— ¡La comida está envenenada, hombre de Dios!
Y no pudieron comer. 41 Entonces Eliseo ordenó:
— Traedme harina.
La echó en la olla y dijo:
— Sirve a la gente, para que coman.
Y desapareció el veneno de la olla.
La multiplicación de los panes
42 Por entonces llegó un hombre de Baal Salisá a traer al profeta el pan de las primicias: veinte panes de cebada y grano nuevo en su alforja. Eliseo ordenó:
— Dáselo a la gente para que coma.
43 Pero el criado respondió:
— ¿Cómo puedo dar esto a cien personas?
Y Eliseo insistió:
— Dáselo a la gente, para que coma; pues el Señor ha dicho que comerán y sobrará.
44 Entonces el criado les sirvió, comieron y sobró, como había dicho el Señor.

El aceite de la viuda
4 Una mujer, de las mujeres de los hijos de los profetas, clamó a Eliseo, diciendo: Tu siervo mi marido ha muerto; y tú sabes que tu siervo era temeroso de Jehová; y ha venido el acreedor para tomarse dos hijos míos por siervos. 2 Y Eliseo le dijo: ¿Qué te haré yo? Declárame qué tienes en casa. Y ella dijo: Tu sierva ninguna cosa tiene en casa, sino una vasija de aceite. 3 Él le dijo: Ve y pide para ti vasijas prestadas de todos tus vecinos, vasijas vacías, no pocas. 4 Entra luego, y enciérrate tú y tus hijos; y echa en todas las vasijas, y cuando una esté llena, ponla aparte. 5 Y se fue la mujer, y cerró la puerta encerrándose ella y sus hijos; y ellos le traían las vasijas, y ella echaba del aceite. 6 Cuando las vasijas estuvieron llenas, dijo a un hijo suyo: Tráeme aún otras vasijas. Y él dijo: No hay más vasijas. Entonces cesó el aceite. 7 Vino ella luego, y lo contó al varón de Dios, el cual dijo: Ve y vende el aceite, y paga a tus acreedores; y tú y tus hijos vivid de lo que quede.
Eliseo y la sunamita
8 Aconteció también que un día pasaba Eliseo por Sunem; y había allí una mujer importante, que le invitaba insistentemente a que comiese; y cuando él pasaba por allí, venía a la casa de ella a comer. 9 Y ella dijo a su marido: He aquí ahora, yo entiendo que este que siempre pasa por nuestra casa, es varón santo de Dios. 10 Yo te ruego que hagamos un pequeño aposento de paredes, y pongamos allí cama, mesa, silla y candelero, para que cuando él viniere a nosotros, se quede en él.
11 Y aconteció que un día vino él por allí, y se quedó en aquel aposento, y allí durmió. 12 Entonces dijo a Giezi su criado: Llama a esta sunamita. Y cuando la llamó, vino ella delante de él. 13 Dijo él entonces a Giezi: Dile: He aquí tú has estado solícita por nosotros con todo este esmero; ¿qué quieres que haga por ti? ¿Necesitas que hable por ti al rey, o al general del ejército? Y ella respondió: Yo habito en medio de mi pueblo. 14 Y él dijo: ¿Qué, pues, haremos por ella? Y Giezi respondió: He aquí que ella no tiene hijo, y su marido es viejo. 15 Dijo entonces: Llámala. Y él la llamó, y ella se paró a la puerta. 16 Y él le dijo: El año que viene, por este tiempo, abrazarás un hijo. Y ella dijo: No, señor mío, varón de Dios, no hagas burla de tu sierva. 17 Mas la mujer concibió, y dio a luz un hijo el año siguiente, en el tiempo que Eliseo le había dicho.
18 Y el niño creció. Pero aconteció un día, que vino a su padre, que estaba con los segadores; 19 y dijo a su padre: ¡Ay, mi cabeza, mi cabeza! Y el padre dijo a un criado: Llévalo a su madre. 20 Y habiéndole él tomado y traído a su madre, estuvo sentado en sus rodillas hasta el mediodía, y murió. 21 Ella entonces subió, y lo puso sobre la cama del varón de Dios, y cerrando la puerta, se salió. 22 Llamando luego a su marido, le dijo: Te ruego que envíes conmigo a alguno de los criados y una de las asnas, para que yo vaya corriendo al varón de Dios, y regrese. 23 Él dijo: ¿Para qué vas a verle hoy? No es nueva luna, ni día de reposo.[a] Y ella respondió: Paz. 24 Después hizo enalbardar el asna, y dijo al criado: Guía y anda; y no me hagas detener en el camino, sino cuando yo te lo dijere. 25 Partió, pues, y vino al varón de Dios, al monte Carmelo.
Y cuando el varón de Dios la vio de lejos, dijo a su criado Giezi: He aquí la sunamita. 26 Te ruego que vayas ahora corriendo a recibirla, y le digas: ¿Te va bien a ti? ¿Le va bien a tu marido, y a tu hijo? Y ella dijo: Bien. 27 Luego que llegó a donde estaba el varón de Dios en el monte, se asió de sus pies. Y se acercó Giezi para quitarla; pero el varón de Dios le dijo: Déjala, porque su alma está en amargura, y Jehová me ha encubierto el motivo, y no me lo ha revelado. 28 Y ella dijo: ¿Pedí yo hijo a mi señor? ¿No dije yo que no te burlases de mí? 29 Entonces dijo él a Giezi: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma mi báculo en tu mano, y ve; si alguno te encontrare, no lo saludes, y si alguno te saludare, no le respondas; y pondrás mi báculo sobre el rostro del niño. 30 Y dijo la madre del niño: Vive Jehová, y vive tu alma, que no te dejaré. 31 Él entonces se levantó y la siguió. Y Giezi había ido delante de ellos, y había puesto el báculo sobre el rostro del niño; pero no tenía voz ni sentido, y así se había vuelto para encontrar a Eliseo, y se lo declaró, diciendo: El niño no despierta.
32 Y venido Eliseo a la casa, he aquí que el niño estaba muerto tendido sobre su cama. 33 Entrando él entonces, cerró la puerta tras ambos, y oró a Jehová. 34 Después subió y se tendió sobre el niño, poniendo su boca sobre la boca de él, y sus ojos sobre sus ojos, y sus manos sobre las manos suyas; así se tendió sobre él, y el cuerpo del niño entró en calor. 35 Volviéndose luego, se paseó por la casa a una y otra parte, y después subió, y se tendió sobre él nuevamente, y el niño estornudó siete veces, y abrió sus ojos. 36 Entonces llamó él a Giezi, y le dijo: Llama a esta sunamita. Y él la llamó. Y entrando ella, él le dijo: Toma tu hijo. 37 Y así que ella entró, se echó a sus pies, y se inclinó a tierra; y después tomó a su hijo, y salió.
Milagros en beneficio de los profetas
38 Eliseo volvió a Gilgal cuando había una grande hambre en la tierra. Y los hijos de los profetas estaban con él, por lo que dijo a su criado: Pon una olla grande, y haz potaje para los hijos de los profetas. 39 Y salió uno al campo a recoger hierbas, y halló una como parra montés, y de ella llenó su falda de calabazas silvestres; y volvió, y las cortó en la olla del potaje, pues no sabía lo que era. 40 Después sirvió para que comieran los hombres; pero sucedió que comiendo ellos de aquel guisado, gritaron diciendo: ¡Varón de Dios, hay muerte en esa olla! Y no lo pudieron comer. 41 Él entonces dijo: Traed harina. Y la esparció en la olla, y dijo: Da de comer a la gente. Y no hubo más mal en la olla.
42 Vino entonces un hombre de Baal-salisa, el cual trajo al varón de Dios panes de primicias, veinte panes de cebada, y trigo nuevo en su espiga. Y él dijo: Da a la gente para que coma. 43 Y respondió su sirviente: ¿Cómo pondré esto delante de cien hombres? Pero él volvió a decir: Da a la gente para que coma, porque así ha dicho Jehová: Comerán, y sobrará. 44 Entonces lo puso delante de ellos, y comieron, y les sobró, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

The Widow’s Olive Oil
4 The wife of a man from the company(A) of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor(B) is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”
2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”
“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”(C)
3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7 She went and told the man of God,(D) and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
The Shunammite’s Son Restored to Life
8 One day Elisha went to Shunem.(E) And a well-to-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat. 9 She said to her husband, “I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. 10 Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay(F) there whenever he comes to us.”
11 One day when Elisha came, he went up to his room and lay down there. 12 He said to his servant Gehazi, “Call the Shunammite.”(G) So he called her, and she stood before him. 13 Elisha said to him, “Tell her, ‘You have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army?’”
She replied, “I have a home among my own people.”
14 “What can be done for her?” Elisha asked.
Gehazi said, “She has no son, and her husband is old.”
15 Then Elisha said, “Call her.” So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. 16 “About this time(H) next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.”
“No, my lord!” she objected. “Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”
17 But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.
18 The child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the reapers.(I) 19 He said to his father, “My head! My head!”
His father told a servant, “Carry him to his mother.” 20 After the servant had lifted him up and carried him to his mother, the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died. 21 She went up and laid him on the bed(J) of the man of God, then shut the door and went out.
22 She called her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and a donkey so I can go to the man of God quickly and return.”
23 “Why go to him today?” he asked. “It’s not the New Moon(K) or the Sabbath.”
“That’s all right,” she said.
24 She saddled the donkey and said to her servant, “Lead on; don’t slow down for me unless I tell you.” 25 So she set out and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel.(L)
When he saw her in the distance, the man of God said to his servant Gehazi, “Look! There’s the Shunammite! 26 Run to meet her and ask her, ‘Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right?’”
“Everything is all right,” she said.
27 When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she took hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone! She is in bitter distress,(M) but the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me why.”
28 “Did I ask you for a son, my lord?” she said. “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t raise my hopes’?”
29 Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt,(N) take my staff(O) in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.”
30 But the child’s mother said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.
31 Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him, “The boy has not awakened.”
32 When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch.(P) 33 He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed(Q) to the Lord. 34 Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched(R) himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. 35 Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times(S) and opened his eyes.(T)
36 Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite.” And he did. When she came, he said, “Take your son.”(U) 37 She came in, fell at his feet and bowed to the ground. Then she took her son and went out.
Death in the Pot
38 Elisha returned to Gilgal(V) and there was a famine(W) in that region. While the company of the prophets was meeting with him, he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot and cook some stew for these prophets.”
39 One of them went out into the fields to gather herbs and found a wild vine and picked as many of its gourds as his garment could hold. When he returned, he cut them up into the pot of stew, though no one knew what they were. 40 The stew was poured out for the men, but as they began to eat it, they cried out, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
41 Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He put it into the pot and said, “Serve it to the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.(X)
Feeding of a Hundred
42 A man came from Baal Shalishah,(Y) bringing the man of God twenty loaves(Z) of barley bread(AA) baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.
43 “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked.
But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat.(AB) For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.(AC)’” 44 Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

4 Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”
2 Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?”
She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers. 4 Go in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”
5 So she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil. 6 When the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.”
He said to her, “There isn’t another container.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
8 One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread. 9 She said to her husband, “See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God who passes by us continually. 10 Please, let’s make a little room on the roof. Let’s set a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand for him there. When he comes to us, he can stay there.”
11 One day he came there, and he went to the room and lay there. 12 He said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him. 13 He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’”
She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”
14 He said, “What then is to be done for her?”
Gehazi answered, “Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old.”
15 He said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the door. 16 He said, “At this season next year, you will embrace a son.”
She said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”
17 The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her. 18 When the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers. 19 He said to his father, “My head! My head!”
He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”
20 When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died. 21 She went up and laid him on the man of God’s bed, and shut the door on him, and went out. 22 She called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come again.”
23 He said, “Why would you want to go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.”
She said, “It’s all right.”
24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”
25 So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite. 26 Please run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’”
She answered, “It is well.”
27 When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”
28 Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”
29 Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”
30 The child’s mother said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.”
So he arose, and followed her.
31 Gehazi went ahead of them, and laid the staff on the child’s face; but there was no voice and no hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, “The child has not awakened.”
32 When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and lying on his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to Yahweh. 34 He went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the child’s flesh grew warm. 35 Then he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth, then went up and stretched himself out on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. 36 He called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite!” So he called her.
When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.”
37 Then she went in, fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; then she picked up her son, and went out.
38 Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”
39 One went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered a lap full of wild gourds from it, and came and cut them up into the pot of stew; for they didn’t recognize them. 40 So they poured out for the men to eat. As they were eating some of the stew, they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
41 But he said, “Then bring meal.” He threw it into the pot; and he said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
42 A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God some bread of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”
43 His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?”
But he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for Yahweh says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”
44 So he set it before them and they ate and had some left over, according to Yahweh’s word.
