7 Acaz envió entonces mensajeros a Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria, con este mensaje: «Ya que soy tu siervo y vasallo,[a] ven y líbrame del poder del rey de Siria y del rey de Israel, que se han puesto contra mí». 8 Acaz también juntó la plata y el oro que había en el templo del Señor y en el tesoro del palacio real, y se lo envió todo al rey de Asiria como un regalo. 9 El rey de Asiria, accediendo a su petición, lanzó un ataque contra Damasco y conquistó la ciudad. Luego deportó a sus habitantes a Quir y mató a Rezín.

7 So Ahaz sent messengers to (A)Tiglath-Pileser[a] king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.” 8 And Ahaz (B)took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent it as a present to the king of Assyria. 9 So the king of Assyria heeded him; for the king of Assyria went up against (C)Damascus and (D)took it, carried its people captive to (E)Kir, and killed Rezin.

7 Ahaz sent messengers to say to Tiglath-Pileser(A) king of Assyria, “I am your servant and vassal. Come up and save(B) me out of the hand of the king of Aram and of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.” 8 And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift(C) to the king of Assyria. 9 The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus(D) and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir(E) and put Rezin to death.

Come up and rescue me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.” 8 Ahaz also (C)took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasures of the king's house and sent a present to the king of Assyria. 9 (D)And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus (E)and took it, carrying its people captive to (F)Kir, and he killed Rezin.
