Azarias, rei de Judá
(2 Cr 26.3-4)
15 1-2 O novo rei de Judá foi Azarias. O seu pai era Amazias, o rei anterior. A sua mãe chamava-se Jecolia e era de Jerusalém. O seu reinado durou 52 anos, com sede em Jerusalém. Começou a reinar com 16 anos. Em Israel, o rei Jeroboão reinava havia já 27 anos, quando Azarias subiu ao trono. 3 Conduziu-se com retidão aos olhos do Senhor, imitando o seu pai Amazias naquilo que este tinha feito de bem.
Infidelidade de Azarias
(2 Cr 26.16-23)
4 Contudo, não destruiu os santuários pagãos sobre as colinas, onde o povo continuava a fazer sacrifícios e a oferecer incenso queimado. 5 Por causa disso, o Senhor castigou-o com lepra, tendo ficado assim até ao dia da sua morte. Em consequência dessa enfermidade, foi obrigado a viver isolado, numa casa à parte. O seu filho Jotão era o regente.
6 O resto dos acontecimentos da vida de Azarias está escrito no Livro das Crónicas dos Reis de Judá. 7 Quando Azarias faleceu, foi sepultado junto dos seus antepassados, na Cidade de David, e o seu filho Jotão tornou-se rei.
Zacarias, rei de Israel
8 O novo rei de Israel foi Zacarias. O seu pai era Jeroboão, o rei anterior. O seu reinado durou seis meses. Em Judá, Azarias era rei havia 38 anos, quando aquele ascendeu ao trono. 9 Zacarias foi um mau rei, pois fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, tal como muitos dos seus antecessores. À semelhança de Jeroboão I, o filho de Nebate, incentivou Israel a pecar.
10 Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra ele, assassinou-o em Ibleão e reinou em seu lugar. 11 O resto da história do reinado de Zacarias encontra-se no Livro das Crónicas dos Reis de Israel. 12 Assim se concretizou a palavra do Senhor dirigida a Jeú, que o seu filho, neto e bisneto seriam reis de Israel.
Salum, rei de Israel
13 O novo rei de Israel foi Salum. O seu pai era Jabes e o seu reinado durou um mês. Em Judá, Uzias, também chamado Azarias, era nessa altura rei havia 39 anos. 14 Um mês depois de Salum ter ascendido ao trono, Menaem, filho de Gadi, veio de Tirza a Samaria e assassinou-o, ocupando o trono em seu lugar. 15 Outros detalhes acerca de Salum e dessa conspiração estão escritos no Livro das Crónicas dos Reis de Israel.
Menaem, rei de Israel
16 Menaem destruiu a povoação de Tifsa, assim como os seus arredores, porque os seus habitantes se recusaram a aceitá-lo como rei. Por isso, matou toda a população, chegando ao ponto de desventrar mulheres grávidas.
17 O novo rei de Israel foi Menaem. O seu reinado, com sede em Samaria, durou 10 anos. Nessa altura, Azarias era rei havia 39 anos. 18 Menaem fez aquilo que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Prestou culto a ídolos, tal como muito antes o fizera Jeroboão I que levara o povo de Israel a pecar gravemente.
19 O rei Pul da Assíria invadiu a terra. Menaem subornou-o a troco de umas 34 toneladas de prata, para que se retirasse do país. 20 Menaem teve posteriormente de extorquir esse dinheiro da mão de todos os poderosos e ricos da terra, sob a forma de uma taxa especial de 575 gramas de prata por pessoa. 21 O resto dos acontecimentos da história do rei Menaem está escrito no Livro das Crónicas dos Reis de Israel. 22 Quando morreu, o seu filho Pecaías tornou-se o novo rei.
Pecaías, rei de Israel
23 O novo rei de Israel foi Pecaías. O seu pai foi o rei anterior, Menaem. O seu reinado durou 2 anos e esteve sediado em Samaria. Em Judá, Azarias reinava havia já 50 anos. 24 Pecaías fez aquilo que era mau aos olhos do Senhor e deu continuidade ao mau exemplo de Jeroboão I, filho de Nebate, que levou Israel por maus caminhos.
25 Peca, filho de Remalias, o comandante-geral do seu exército, conspirou contra ele, acompanhado de cinquenta homens de Gileade, e assassinou-o no palácio de Samaria. Argobe e Arie foram também mortos nessa revolta. Peca tornou-se o novo rei.

Peca, rei de Israel
27 O novo rei de Israel foi Peca. O seu pai foi Remalias e o seu reinado durou 20 anos, com sede em Samaria. Em Judá, o rei Azarias reinava havia já 52 anos. 28 Peca fez aquilo que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, pois prosseguiu nos caminhos de Jeroboão I, filho de Nebate, que levou todo o Israel a pecar.
29 Foi durante o seu reinado que o rei Tiglate-Pileser atacou Israel. Capturou as povoações de Ijom, Abel-Bete-Maacá, Janoa, Quedes, Hazor, Gileade, Galileia e toda a terra de Naftali, levando os seus habitantes cativos para a Assíria. 30 Então Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca e assassinou-o, ocupando o trono em seu lugar. O novo rei de Israel foi Oseias. Em Judá, Jotão, filho de Uzias, era rei havia 20 anos.

Jotão, rei de Judá
(2 Cr 27.1-9)
32 O novo rei de Judá foi Jotão. O seu pai foi o rei Uzias. 33 Tinha 25 anos quando se sentou no trono e reinou 16 anos, tendo Jerusalém como sua capital. A sua mãe era Jerusa, filha de Zadoque. 34 Conduziu-se de forma reta aos olhos do Senhor, seguindo os passos de seu pai Uzias. 35 No entanto, não soube destruir os santuários pagãos que estavam nas colinas, onde o povo ia oferecer sacrifícios e queimava incenso. Foi durante o seu reinado que a porta alta do templo foi construída.
36 O resto dos acontecimentos da vida de Jotão encontra-se no Livro das Crónicas dos Reis de Judá. 37 Naqueles dias, o Senhor levou o rei Rezim de Aram e o rei Peca de Israel a atacar Judá. 38 Quando Jotão faleceu, foi sepultado junto dos seus antepassados na Cidade de David. O seu filho Acaz ocupou o trono.

Azarias, rei de Judá
15 No ano vinte e sete de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Azarias, filho de Amazias, rei de Judá. 2 Tinha dezesseis anos quando começou a reinar e cinquenta e dois anos reinou em Jerusalém; e era o nome de sua mãe Jecolias, de Jerusalém. 3 E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, conforme tudo o que fizera Amazias, seu pai. 4 Tão somente os altos se não tiraram; porque ainda o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos.
5 E o Senhor feriu o rei, e este ficou leproso até ao dia da sua morte e habitou numa casa separada; porém Jotão, filho do rei, tinha o cargo da casa, julgando o povo da terra. 6 Ora, o mais dos atos de Azarias e tudo o que fez, porventura, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Judá? 7 E Azarias dormiu com seus pais, e o sepultaram junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi; e Jotão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
Zacarias reina seis meses
8 No ano trinta e oito de Azarias, rei de Judá, reinou Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão, sobre Israel, em Samaria, seis meses. 9 E fez o que era mal aos olhos do Senhor, como tinham feito seus pais; nunca se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 10 E Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra ele, e o feriu diante do povo, e o matou, e reinou em seu lugar. 11 Ora, o mais dos atos de Zacarias, eis que está escrito no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel. 12 Esta foi a palavra que o Senhor falou a Jeú, dizendo: Teus filhos, até à quarta geração, se assentarão sobre o trono de Israel. E assim foi.
Salum reina em Samaria um mês
13 Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar no ano trinta e nove de Uzias, rei de Judá; e reinou um mês inteiro em Samaria. 14 Porque Menaém, filho de Gadi, subiu de Tirza, e veio a Samaria, e feriu a Salum, filho de Jabes, em Samaria, e o matou, e reinou em seu lugar. 15 Ora, o mais dos atos de Salum e a conspiração que fez, eis que estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel. 16 Então, Menaém feriu a Tifsa e todos os que nela havia, como também seus termos desde Tirza, porque não lha tinham aberto; e os feriu, pois, e todas as mulheres grávidas fendeu pelo meio.
Menaém reina sobre Israel
17 Desde o ano trinta e nove de Azarias, rei de Judá, Menaém, filho de Gadi, começou a reinar sobre Israel e reinou dez anos em Samaria. 18 E fez o que era mal aos olhos do Senhor; todos os seus dias se não apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 19 Então, veio Pul, rei da Assíria, contra a terra; e Menaém deu a Pul mil talentos de prata, para que a sua mão fosse com ele, a fim de firmar o reino na sua mão. 20 E Menaém tirou esse dinheiro de Israel, de todos os poderosos e ricos, para o dar ao rei da Assíria, para cada homem cinquenta siclos de prata; assim, voltou o rei da Assíria e não ficou ali na terra. 21 Ora, o mais dos atos de Menaém e tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel? 22 E Menaém dormiu com seus pais; e Pecaías, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
Pecaías, rei de Israel
23 No ano cinquenta de Azarias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Pecaías, filho de Menaém, e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, dois anos. 24 E fez o que era mal aos olhos do Senhor; nunca se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 25 E Peca, filho de Remalias, seu capitão, conspirou contra ele e o feriu em Samaria, no paço da casa do rei, juntamente com Argobe e com Arié; e com ele estavam cinquenta homens dos filhos dos gileaditas; e o matou e reinou em seu lugar. 26 Ora, o mais dos atos de Pecaías e tudo quanto fez, eis que estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel.
27 No ano cinquenta e dois de Azarias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Peca, filho de Remalias, e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, vinte anos. 28 E fez o que era mal aos olhos do Senhor; nunca se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel.
29 Nos dias de Peca, rei de Israel, veio Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, e tomou a Ijom, e Abel-Bete-Maaca, e a Janoa, e a Quedes, e a Hazor, e a Gileade, e à Galileia, e à toda a terra de Naftali, e os levou para a Assíria. 30 E Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca, filho de Remalias, e o feriu, e o matou, e reinou em seu lugar, no vigésimo ano de Jotão, filho de Uzias. 31 Ora, o mais dos atos de Peca e tudo quanto fez, eis que estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel.
Jotão, rei de Judá
32 No ano segundo de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá. 33 Tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém; e era o nome de sua mãe Jerusa, filha de Zadoque. 34 E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, fez conforme tudo quanto fizera Uzias, seu pai. 35 Tão somente os altos se não tiraram; porque ainda o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos; Jotão edificou a Porta Alta da Casa do Senhor. 36 Ora, o mais dos atos de Jotão e tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Judá? 37 Naqueles dias, começou o Senhor a enviar contra Judá a Rezim, rei da Síria, e a Peca, filho de Remalias. 38 E Jotão dormiu com seus pais e foi sepultado junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi, seu pai; e Acaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

8 (F)In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam became king over Israel in Samaria for six months. 9 He did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel sin. 10 Then Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and (G)struck him before the people and [c]killed him, and reigned in his place. 11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 12 This is (H)the word of the Lord which He spoke to Jehu, saying, “Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” And so it was.
13 Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the (I)thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned one month in (J)Samaria. 14 Then Menahem son of Gadi went up from (K)Tirzah and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him and became king in his place. 15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum and his conspiracy which he made, behold they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 16 Then Menahem struck Tiphsah and all who were in it and its borders from Tirzah, because they did not open to him; therefore he struck it and ripped up (L)all its women who were with child.
Menahem over Israel
17 In the (M)thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king over Israel and reigned ten years in Samaria. 18 He did evil in the sight of the Lord; he did not depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel sin.
19 (N)Pul, king of Assyria, came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver so that his hand might be with him to (O)strengthen the kingdom [d]under his rule. 20 Then Menahem exacted the money from Israel, even from all the mighty men of wealth, from each man fifty shekels of silver to pay the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned and did not remain there in the land. 21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel? 22 And Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, [e](T)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and [f]captured Ijon and Abel-beth-maacah and Janoah and Kedesh and Hazor and Gilead and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and (U)he carried them captive to Assyria. 30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him and put him to death and became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
Jotham over Judah
32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham the son of [g]Uzziah king of Judah became king. 33 (V)He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok. 34 (W)He did what was right in the sight of the Lord; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done. 35 Only (X)the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. 15 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.
2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
5 And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

37 In those days the Lord began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
