Los falsos maestros
2 Hubo también falsos profetas entre el pueblo de Israel; y así habrá falsos maestros entre ustedes. Ellos enseñarán con disimulo sus dañinas ideas, negando de ese modo al propio Señor que los redimió; esto les atraerá una rápida condenación. 2 Muchos los seguirán en su vida viciosa, y por causa de ellos se hablará mal del camino de la verdad. 3 En su ambición de dinero, los explotarán a ustedes con falsas enseñanzas; pero la condenación los espera a ellos sin remedio, pues desde hace mucho tiempo están sentenciados.
4 Dios no perdonó a los ángeles que pecaron, sino que los arrojó al infierno y los dejó en tinieblas, encadenados y guardados para el juicio. 5 Ni tampoco perdonó Dios al mundo antiguo, sino que mandó el diluvio sobre aquellos hombres malos, y salvó solamente a Noé, que predicó una vida de rectitud, y a otras siete personas. 6 Dios también condenó a la destrucción a las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra, quemándolas hasta dejarlas hechas cenizas, para que sirvieran de ejemplo de lo que habría de suceder a los malvados. 7 Pero libró a Lot, un hombre justo a quien afligía la vida viciosa de aquellos malvados. 8 Este hombre justo que vivía entre ellos, sufría en su buen corazón a causa de las maldades que día tras día tenía que ver y oír.
9 El Señor sabe librar de la prueba a los que viven entregados a él, y sabe tener a los malos bajo castigo para el día del juicio. 10 El Señor castigará sobre todo a los que siguen deseos impuros y desprecian su autoridad. Son tercos y atrevidos, y no tienen miedo de insultar a los poderes superiores; 11 en cambio, los ángeles, aunque tienen más fuerza y autoridad, no se atreven, de parte del Señor, a condenar con insultos a esos poderes.
12 Esos hombres son como los animales: no tienen entendimiento, viven sólo por instinto y nacen para que los atrapen y los maten. Hablan mal de cosas que no entienden; pero morirán de la misma manera que los animales, 13 sufriendo por lo que han hecho sufrir a otros. Se creen felices entregándose al libertinaje en pleno día. ¡Son una vergüenza y un escándalo cuando los acompañan a ustedes en sus fiestas, divirtiéndose con sus placeres engañosos!
14 No pueden ver a una mujer sin desearla; no se cansan de pecar. Seducen a las almas débiles; son expertos en la avaricia; son gente maldita. 15 Andan perdidos, porque se han desviado del camino recto. Siguen el ejemplo del profeta Balaam, hijo de Bosor, que quiso ganar dinero haciendo el mal 16 y fue reprendido por su pecado: una asna muda le habló con voz humana y no lo dejó seguir con su locura.
17 Esos maestros son como pozos sin agua, como nubes llevadas por el viento; están condenados a pasar la eternidad en la más negra oscuridad. 18 Dicen cosas altisonantes y vacías, y con vicios y deseos humanos seducen a quienes a duras penas logran escapar de los que viven en el error. 19 Les prometen libertad, siendo ellos mismos esclavos de la corrupción; porque todo hombre es esclavo de aquello que lo ha dominado. 20 Pues los que han conocido a nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, y han escapado así de las impurezas del mundo, si se dejan enredar otra vez en esas cosas y son dominados por ellas, quedan peor que antes. 21 Hubiera sido mejor para ellos no haber conocido el camino recto que, después de haberlo conocido, apartarse del santo mandamiento que les fue dado. 22 Pero en ellos se ha cumplido la verdad de aquel dicho: «El perro vuelve a su vómito», y también lo de «La puerca recién bañada vuelve a revolcarse en el lodo.»

2 Însă, în popor, s-au şi ridicat profeţi falşi, cum şi între voi vor fi învăţători falşi, care vor strecura erezii[a] distrugătoare şi-L vor nega pe Stăpânul Care i-a răscumpărat, aducând astfel asupra lor o distrugere năprasnică. 2 Mulţi îi vor urma în depravările lor; din cauza lor calea adevărului va fi batjocorită. 3 În lăcomia lor, vor încerca să profite de voi prin cuvântări născocite. Dar condamnarea lor, dată cu mult timp în urmă, nu stă degeaba, iar distrugerea lor nu dormitează.
4 Căci dacă nu i-a cruţat Dumnezeu pe îngeri atunci când au păcătuit, ci i-a aruncat în Tartar[b] şi i-a lăsat în lanţurile beznei[c], unde sunt ţinuţi până la judecată, 5 dacă n-a cruţat El lumea din vechime, ci a adus potopul peste lumea celor neevlavioşi, însă l-a păzit pe Noe – un predicator al dreptăţii – împreună cu alţi şapte, 6 dacă a condamnat El cetăţile Sodoma şi Gomora la distrugere, transformându-le în cenuşă şi făcându-le astfel un exemplu cu privire la ce urmează pentru cei neevlavioşi, 7 însă l-a scăpat pe Lot, un om drept, care era necăjit de felul de viaţă depravat al celor nelegiuiţi 8 (căci omul acesta drept, în timp ce trăia în mijlocul lor, era chinuit zi de zi în sufletul său drept de faptele nelegiuite pe care le vedea şi auzea), 9 înseamnă că Domnul ştie cum să-i scape pe cei evlavioşi din încercare şi cum să-i ţină pe cei nedrepţi sub pedeapsă, până în[d] ziua judecăţii, 10 mai ales pe cei ce umblă după pofta stricată a firii[e] şi dispreţuiesc autoritatea.
Ei sunt îndrăzneţi, aroganţi şi nu se tem să-i batjocorească pe cei glorioşi, 11 pe când îngerii, care sunt mai mari în tărie şi putere, nu aduc în prezenţa[f] Domnului vreo condamnare batjocoritoare împotriva acestora. 12 Însă aceşti oameni, ca nişte vieţuitoare fără raţiune, care au doar instinctul, născute să fie prinse şi ucise, batjocoresc ceea ce nu cunosc, şi, prin urmare, vor fi nimiciţi în însăşi depravarea lor, 13 suferind astfel răsplata pentru nelegiuirea lor. Considerând ca fiind o plăcere să trăiască în chef în timpul zilei, ei sunt ca nişte pete şi defecte. Astfel, ei chefuiesc dedându-se la plăceri înşelătoare atunci când se ospătează împreună cu voi[g]. 14 Au ochii plini de adulter, sunt nesătuli în ce priveşte păcatul, momesc sufletele nestatornice, inima le este deprinsă la lăcomie, sunt nişte copii blestemaţi; 15 au părăsit calea cea dreaptă şi s-au rătăcit urmând calea lui Balaam, fiul lui Beor, care a iubit răsplata nedreptăţii. 16 Dar a fost mustrat pentru fărădelegea lui: o măgăriţă necuvântătoare i-a vorbit cu glas omenesc şi a împiedicat nebunia profetului.
17 Ei sunt nişte izvoare secate, nişte ceţuri alungate de furtună. Pentru ei a fost păstrat întunericul beznă. 18 Căci ei rostesc lăudăroşenii deşarte şi îi momesc cu poftele depravate ale firii pe cei ce tocmai au scăpat dintre cei ce trăiesc în rătăcire. 19 Le promit libertatea în timp ce ei înşişi sunt sclavi ai depravării. Căci fiecare este înrobit de ceea ce este învins. 20 Dacă, după ce au scăpat de murdăriile lumii prin cunoaşterea Domnului şi Mântuitorului nostru Isus Cristos, se încurcă din nou în ele şi sunt învinşi, starea lor din urmă devine mai rea decât cea dintâi. 21 Era mai bine pentru ei să nu fi cunoscut calea dreptăţii, decât, după ce au cunoscut-o, să se întoarcă de la porunca sfântă care le-a fost încredinţată. 22 Ceea ce li s-a întâmplat lor arată că este adevărat proverbul care spune:
„Câinele se întoarce la voma lui.“[h]
şi
„Scroafa, după ce este spălată, se tăvăleşte iarăşi în noroi.“

2 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
