Falsos maestros
2 En el pasado hubo falsos profetas entre el pueblo de Dios, así como también los habrá entre ustedes. Sin que ustedes se den cuenta, ellos les darán falsas enseñanzas que los llevarán a ustedes a la condenación. Se atreverán incluso a negar al mismo Señor, que fue quien pagó el precio de su libertad. Pero al hacerlo, ellos mismos atraerán su rápida destrucción. 2 Muchos los seguirán en su conducta indecente, y por culpa de ellos habrá quienes hablen mal del camino de la verdad. 3 Lo que en realidad quieren los falsos maestros es quitarles su dinero y explotarlos con engaños. Pero Dios les tiene preparada la condena desde hace tiempo, y no podrán escapar del que los destruirá.
4 Dios no dejó sin castigo a los ángeles que pecaron. Al contrario, los envió al infierno y los puso en cavernas oscuras, donde estarán hasta el día del juicio. 5 Tampoco dejó sin castigo al perverso mundo antiguo, sino que le mandó el diluvio, del que sólo salvó a Noé, quien enseñaba vivir para agradar a Dios, y a siete personas más. 6 Dios también castigó a las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra reduciéndolas a cenizas. Estas ciudades son ejemplo y advertencia de lo que les espera a quienes están en contra de Dios. 7 Pero Dios salvó a Lot, un buen hombre que se angustiaba por la mala vida que llevaba esa gente perversa. 8 Lot era bueno, pero su corazón se atormentaba por todo lo que tenía que ver y oír todos los días viviendo entre tantos perversos.[a]
9 Esto es una prueba de que Dios sabe rescatar de las dificultades a los que dedican su vida a él, pero también sabe cómo castigar a los perversos mientras esperan el día del juicio. 10 El Señor castigará sobre todo a aquellos que se dejan llevar por sus sucios deseos y no respetan su autoridad. Ellos son los falsos maestros, atrevidos y tercos, que no tienen miedo de insultar ni siquiera a los poderes superiores[b]. 11 Los ángeles son más fuertes y poderosos que los falsos maestros; sin embargo, ni siquiera los ángeles se atreven a acusar con insultos a estos poderes ante el Señor.
12 Estos maestros insultan lo que no entienden. Actúan sin pensar, como animales que nacen para ser atrapados y muertos, y terminarán como esos animales. 13 Ellos les hacen mal a otros y se les pagará con la misma moneda. Disfrutan haciendo a la vista de todos lo que les viene en gana; cuando cenan con ustedes, ellos son una mancha que causa vergüenza, pues con sus mañas lo echan todo a perder. 14 No pueden ver a una mujer sin desvestirla con la mirada. Ese es su pecado permanente. Hacen pecar a las personas inestables, son avaros y expertos en aprovecharse de los demás. Por eso están bajo maldición. 15 Se apartaron del buen camino y se desviaron por el mismo camino de Balán[c], el hijo de Bosor, a quien le encantaba que le pagaran por hacer maldades. 16 Balán fue reprendido por su pecado. A pesar de que los burros no hablan, una burra le habló como habla un ser humano y le dijo que estaba cometiendo un error. Así logró detener la locura del profeta Balán.
17 Esos falsos maestros, son como ríos sin agua y como nubes a las que se lleva el viento. Dios los ha destinado a un lugar en la más negra oscuridad. 18 Buscan impresionar a la gente con sus palabras, que en realidad no valen nada. Con sus malos deseos y consejos seducen a quienes a duras penas logran escapar de los que viven en el error. 19 Les prometen libertad, pero ellos mismos son esclavos de hábitos que los destruirán, pues uno es esclavo de aquello que lo domina. 20 Ellos escaparon del mal que hay en el mundo cuando conocieron a nuestro Señor Jesucristo, pero si son atrapados y dominados nuevamente por ese mal, terminarán peor que al principio. 21 Hubiera sido mejor para ellos no haber conocido nunca el camino correcto, que haberlo conocido y luego apartarse del camino de la justicia. 22 (A)Con esa gente se cumple lo que dice el dicho: «El perro que vomita, regresa a su mismo vómito»,[d] y: «Aunque laven al cerdo, irá de nuevo a revolcarse en el barro».

2 En el pueblo de Israel hubo también algunos que decían ser enviados por Dios, pero no lo eran. Así también, entre ustedes, habrá quienes se crean maestros enviados por Dios, sin serlo. Ellos les darán enseñanzas falsas y peligrosas, sin que ustedes se den cuenta, y hasta dirán que Jesucristo no es capaz de salvar. Por eso, cuando ellos menos lo esperen, serán destruidos por completo. 2 Mucha gente vivirá como esos falsos maestros, haciendo todo lo malo que se les antoje. Por culpa de ellos, la gente hablará mal de los cristianos y de su modo de vivir. 3 Esos falsos maestros desearán tener más y más dinero, y lo ganarán enseñando mentiras. Pero Dios ya decidió castigarlos desde hace mucho tiempo, y no se salvarán de ese castigo.
4 Dios no perdonó a los ángeles que pecaron, sino que los mandó al infierno. Y allí están, encadenados en la oscuridad, hasta que llegue el día en que Dios juzgará a todos. 5 Dios tampoco perdonó a la gente malvada que vivía en tiempos de Noé. Más bien, les envió el diluvio, y todos murieron. Dios salvó a Noé, porque enseñaba a la gente a hacer el bien, y junto con Noé salvó a otras siete personas. 6 Además, Dios castigó a los que vivían en las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra: los quemó hasta dejarlos hechos cenizas, para que sirvieran de ejemplo de lo que les pasaría a los malvados. 7-8 Pero a Lot no lo quemó, pues era un hombre bueno. Aunque Lot vivía en esas ciudades, todos los días sufría mucho al ver y oír las maldades que esa gente cometía.
9 Esto nos demuestra que Dios sabe solucionar los problemas y dificultades que tienen los que lo obedecen, pero que también habrá de castigar a los que hacen lo malo, y lo hará el día en que juzgue a todos. 10 El castigo será, especialmente, para los que no obedecen sus órdenes y viven haciendo todo lo malo que se les antoja.
Esos falsos maestros son tercos y orgullosos, y no tienen miedo de insultar a los ángeles buenos. 11 Sin embargo, los ángeles, aunque son más poderosos que esos falsos maestros, no se atreven a insultarlos delante de Dios.
12 Esos hombres no entienden nada, todo lo hacen por capricho, y discuten acerca de lo que no entienden; son como los animales, que nacen para que los atrapen y los maten. 13 Sufrirán por haber hecho sufrir a otros, pues creen que serán felices haciendo, a plena luz del día, todo lo malo que se les antoja. Da vergüenza ver lo malo que hacen, y el escándalo que arman, cuando los acompañan a ustedes en sus fiestas de la iglesia.
14 Esos hombres no pueden ver a una mujer sin desear tener relaciones sexuales con ella; ¡nunca se cansan de pecar! Engañan a los que no confían mucho en Cristo, y son muy buenos para conseguir lo que desean. Pero Dios los castigará. ¡De eso no hay duda! 15 Andan perdidos, pues han dejado de obedecer a Dios para seguir el ejemplo de Balaam hijo de Beor, que quiso ganar dinero haciendo lo malo. 16 Pero precisamente por hacer lo malo, una burra lo regañó: le habló con voz humana, y no lo dejó seguir haciendo esas tonterías.
17 Esos falsos maestros son como pozos secos, sin agua; ¡son como nubes llevadas por fuertes vientos! Pero Dios los castigará y los echará para siempre a la más profunda oscuridad. 18 Porque ellos, para impresionar a la gente, dicen cosas bonitas que, en realidad, no sirven para nada. Obligan a otros a participar en sus mismos vicios y malos deseos, y engañan a los que con mucho esfuerzo apenas logran alejarse del pecado. 19 Les prometen que serán libres de hacer lo que quieran, pero ellos mismos no pueden dejar de hacer el mal. Y será ese mismo mal el que acabará por destruirlos, pues quien no puede dejar de pecar es esclavo del pecado. 20 Además, los que han conocido a nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo ya no siguen el ejemplo de los pecadores de este mundo; pero, si se dejan engañar con esas cosas, y además se dejan controlar por el pecado, quedarán peor que antes. 21 Más les valdría no haber conocido este santo mandamiento, ni saber de qué manera quiere Dios que vivan, que saber esto y no obedecerlo. 22 Así, esas personas demuestran la verdad del dicho: «El perro vuelve a su vómito», y también la verdad de este otro: «El cerdo recién bañado vuelve a revolcarse en el lodo».

Falsos profetas y falsos maestros
(Jud. 3-13)
2 Pero hubo también falsos profetas entre el pueblo, como habrá entre vosotros falsos maestros, que introducirán encubiertamente herejías destructoras, y aun negarán al Señor que los rescató, atrayendo sobre sí mismos destrucción repentina. 2 Y muchos seguirán sus disoluciones, por causa de los cuales el camino de la verdad será blasfemado, 3 y por avaricia harán mercadería de vosotros con palabras fingidas. Sobre los tales ya de largo tiempo la condenación no se tarda, y su perdición no se duerme.
4 Porque si Dios no perdonó a los ángeles que pecaron, sino que arrojándolos al infierno los entregó a prisiones de oscuridad, para ser reservados al juicio; 5 y si no perdonó al mundo antiguo, sino que guardó a Noé, pregonero de justicia, con otras siete personas, trayendo el diluvio sobre el mundo de los impíos;(A) 6 y si condenó por destrucción a las ciudades de Sodoma y de Gomorra, reduciéndolas a ceniza(B) y poniéndolas de ejemplo a los que habían de vivir impíamente, 7 y libró al justo Lot, abrumado por la nefanda conducta de los malvados(C) 8 (porque este justo, que moraba entre ellos, afligía cada día su alma justa, viendo y oyendo los hechos inicuos de ellos), 9 sabe el Señor librar de tentación a los piadosos, y reservar a los injustos para ser castigados en el día del juicio; 10 y mayormente a aquellos que, siguiendo la carne, andan en concupiscencia e inmundicia, y desprecian el señorío.
Atrevidos y contumaces, no temen decir mal de las potestades superiores, 11 mientras que los ángeles, que son mayores en fuerza y en potencia, no pronuncian juicio de maldición contra ellas delante del Señor. 12 Pero estos, hablando mal de cosas que no entienden, como animales irracionales, nacidos para presa y destrucción, perecerán en su propia perdición, 13 recibiendo el galardón de su injusticia, ya que tienen por delicia el gozar de deleites cada día. Estos son inmundicias y manchas, quienes aun mientras comen con vosotros, se recrean en sus errores. 14 Tienen los ojos llenos de adulterio, no se sacian de pecar, seducen a las almas inconstantes, tienen el corazón habituado a la codicia, y son hijos de maldición. 15 Han dejado el camino recto, y se han extraviado siguiendo el camino de Balaam hijo de Beor, el cual amó el premio de la maldad, 16 y fue reprendido por su iniquidad; pues una muda bestia de carga, hablando con voz de hombre, refrenó la locura del profeta.(D)
17 Estos son fuentes sin agua, y nubes empujadas por la tormenta; para los cuales la más densa oscuridad está reservada para siempre. 18 Pues hablando palabras infladas y vanas, seducen con concupiscencias de la carne y disoluciones a los que verdaderamente habían huido de los que viven en error. 19 Les prometen libertad, y son ellos mismos esclavos de corrupción. Porque el que es vencido por alguno es hecho esclavo del que lo venció. 20 Ciertamente, si habiéndose ellos escapado de las contaminaciones del mundo, por el conocimiento del Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, enredándose otra vez en ellas son vencidos, su postrer estado viene a ser peor que el primero. 21 Porque mejor les hubiera sido no haber conocido el camino de la justicia, que después de haberlo conocido, volverse atrás del santo mandamiento que les fue dado. 22 Pero les ha acontecido lo del verdadero proverbio: El perro vuelve a su vómito,(E) y la puerca lavada a revolcarse en el cieno.

2 But also false prophets were in the people, as in you shall be masters liars, that shall bring in sects of perdition; and they deny that Lord that bought them, and bring on themselves hasty perdition.[a]
2 And many shall follow their lecheries, by whom the way of truth shall be blasphemed;
3 and they shall make merchandise of you in covetousness by feigned words. To whom doom now a while ago ceaseth not [To whom doom now sometime ceaseth not], and the perdition of them nappeth not.
4 For if God spared not angels sinning, but betook them to be tormented, and to be drawn down with bonds of hell into hell [but betook them to be tormented, drawn down with bonds of hell into hell], to be kept into doom;
5 and spared not the first world, but kept Noah, the eighth man, the before-goer of rightwiseness, and brought in the great flood to the world of unfaithful men [bringing in the deluge, or great flood, to the world of unpious men];
6 and he drove into powder [and driving into powder] the cities of men of Sodom and of men of Gomorrha, and condemned by turning upside-down, and put them the ensample of them that were to doing evil [putting example of them that were to doing evil, or unpiously];

10 but more them that walk after the flesh, in coveting of uncleanness, and despise lordshipping, and be bold, pleasing themselves, and dread not to bring in sects, blaspheming;

12 But these be as unreasonable beasts, naturally into taking [by kind into taking], and into death, blaspheming in these things that they know not, and shall perish in their corruption,
13 and receive the hire of unrightwiseness. And they guess delights of defouling and of wem, to be likings of the day, flowing in their feasts with delights, doing lechery with you, [receiving the hire of unrightwiseness, guessing the volupties of the day delights of defouling and of wem, with delights flowing, in their feasts doing lechery with you,]

21 For it was better to them to not know the way of rightwiseness, than to turn again after the knowing, from that holy commandment that was betaken to them.

False Teachers and Their Destruction
2 But there were also false prophets(A) among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.(B) They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord(C) who bought them(D)—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct(E) and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed(F) these teachers will exploit you(G) with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned,(H) but sent them to hell,[a] putting them in chains of darkness[b] to be held for judgment;(I) 5 if he did not spare the ancient world(J) when he brought the flood on its ungodly people,(K) but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;(L) 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes,(M) and made them an example(N) of what is going to happen to the ungodly;(O) 7 and if he rescued Lot,(P) a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless(Q) 8 (for that righteous man,(R) living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials(S) and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.(T) 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire(U) of the flesh[c] and despise authority.
Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings;(V) 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from[d] the Lord.(W) 12 But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.(X)
13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight.(Y) They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.[e](Z) 14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce(AA) the unstable;(AB) they are experts in greed(AC)—an accursed brood!(AD) 15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam(AE) son of Bezer,[f] who loved the wages of wickedness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—an animal without speech—who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.(AF)
17 These people are springs without water(AG) and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.(AH) 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words(AI) and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping(AJ) from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”(AK) 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing(AL) our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ(AM) and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.(AN) 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.(AO) 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[g](AP) and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
