Moisés erige el tabernáculo

40 Luego Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo: ²En el primer día del mes primero harás levantar el tabernáculo, el tabernáculo de reunión; ³y pondrás en él el arca del testimonio, y la cubrirás con el velo. ⁴Meterás la mesa y la pondrás en orden; meterás también el candelero y encenderás sus lámparas, ⁵y pondrás el altar de oro para el incienso delante del arca del testimonio, y pondrás la cortina delante a la entrada del tabernáculo. ⁶Después pondrás el altar del holocausto delante de la entrada del tabernáculo, del tabernáculo de reunión. ⁷Luego pondrás la fuente entre el tabernáculo de reunión y el altar, y pondrás agua en ella. ⁸Finalmente pondrás el atrio alrededor, y la cortina a la entrada del atrio. ⁹Y tomarás el aceite de la unción y ungirás el tabernáculo, y todo lo que está en él; y lo santificarás con todos sus utensilios, y será santo. ¹⁰Ungirás también el altar del holocausto y todos sus utensilios; y santificarás el altar, y será un altar santísimo. ¹¹Asimismo ungirás la fuente y su base, y la santificarás. ¹²Y llevarás a Aarón y a sus hijos a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, y los lavarás con agua. ¹³Y harás vestir a Aarón las vestiduras sagradas, y lo ungirás, y lo consagrarás, para que sea mi sacerdote. ¹⁴Después harás que se acerquen sus hijos, y les vestirás las túnicas; ¹⁵y los ungirás, como ungiste a su padre, y serán mis sacerdotes, y su unción les servirá por sacerdocio perpetuo, por sus generaciones. ¹⁶Y Moisés hizo conforme a todo lo que Jehová le mandó; así lo hizo. ¹⁷Así, en el día primero del primer mes, en el segundo año, el tabernáculo fue erigido. ¹⁸Moisés hizo levantar el tabernáculo, y asentó sus basas, y colocó sus tablas, y puso sus barras, e hizo alzar sus columnas. ¹⁹Levantó la tienda sobre el tabernáculo, y puso la sobrecubierta encima del mismo, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ²⁰Y tomó el testimonio y lo puso dentro del arca, y colocó las varas en el arca, y encima el propiciatorio sobre el arca. ²¹Luego metió el arca en el tabernáculo, y puso el velo extendido, y ocultó el arca del testimonio, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ²²Puso la mesa en el tabernáculo de reunión, al lado norte de la cortina, fuera del velo, ²³y sobre ella puso por orden los panes delante de Jehová, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ²⁴Puso el candelero en el tabernáculo de reunión, enfrente de la mesa, al lado sur de la cortina, ²⁵y encendió las lámparas delante de Jehová, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ²⁶Puso también el altar de oro en el tabernáculo de reunión, delante del velo, ²⁷y quemó sobre él incienso aromático, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ²⁸Puso asimismo la cortina a la entrada del tabernáculo. ²⁹Y colocó el altar del holocausto a la entrada del tabernáculo, del tabernáculo de reunión, y sacrificó sobre él holocausto y ofrenda, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ³⁰Y puso la fuente entre el tabernáculo de reunión y el altar, y puso en ella agua para lavar. ³¹Y Moisés y Aarón y sus hijos lavaban en ella sus manos y sus pies. ³²Cuando entraban en el tabernáculo de reunión, y cuando se acercaban al altar, se lavaban, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés. ³³Finalmente erigió el atrio alrededor del tabernáculo y del altar, y puso la cortina a la entrada del atrio. Así acabó Moisés la obra.

La nube sobre el tabernáculo

³⁴Entonces una nube cubrió el tabernáculo de reunión, y la gloria de Jehová llenó el tabernáculo. ³⁵Y no podía Moisés entrar en el tabernáculo de reunión, porque la nube estaba sobre él, y la gloria de Jehová lo llenaba. ³⁶Y cuando la nube se alzaba del tabernáculo, los hijos de Israel se movían en todas sus jornadas; ³⁷pero si la nube no se alzaba, no se movían hasta el día en que ella se alzaba. ³⁸Porque la nube de Jehová estaba de día sobre el tabernáculo, y el fuego estaba de noche sobre él, a vista de toda la casa de Israel, en todas sus jornadas.

The Tabernacle Erected and Arranged

40 Then the Lord ^(A)spoke to Moses, saying: ²“On the first day of the ^(B)first month you shall set up ^(C)the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. ³^(D)You shall put in it the ark of the Testimony, and ^[a]partition off the ark with the veil. ⁴^(E)You shall bring in the table and ^(F)arrange the things that are to be set in order on it; ^(G)and you shall bring in the lampstand and ^[b]light its lamps. ⁵^(H)You shall also set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the Testimony, and put up the screen for the door of the tabernacle. ⁶Then you shall set the ^(I)altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. ⁷And ^(J)you shall set the laver between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. ⁸You shall set up the court all around, and hang up the screen at the court gate.

⁹“And you shall take the anointing oil, and ^(K)anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it; and you shall hallow it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy. ¹⁰You shall ^(L)anoint the altar of the burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar. ^(M)The altar shall be most holy. ¹¹And you shall anoint the laver and its base, and consecrate it.

¹²^(N)“Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of meeting and wash them with water. ¹³You shall put the holy ^(O)garments on Aaron, ^(P)and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest. ¹⁴And you shall bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. ¹⁵You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to Me as priests; for their anointing shall surely be ^(Q)an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”

¹⁶Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did.

¹⁷And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the ^(R)tabernacle was ^[c]raised up. ¹⁸So Moses raised up the tabernacle, fastened its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars, and raised up its pillars. ¹⁹And he spread out the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. ²⁰He took ^(S)the Testimony and put it into the ark, inserted the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark. ²¹And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, ^(T)hung up the veil of the covering, and partitioned off the ark of the Testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

²²^(U)He put the table in the tabernacle of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil; ²³^(V)and he set the bread in order upon it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. ²⁴^(W)He put the lampstand in the tabernacle of meeting, across from the table, on the south side of the tabernacle; ²⁵and ^(X)he lit the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. ²⁶^(Y)He put the gold altar in the tabernacle of meeting in front of the veil; ²⁷^(Z)and he burned sweet incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. ²⁸^(AA)He hung up the screen at the door of the tabernacle. ²⁹^(AB)And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and ^(AC)offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the Lord had commanded Moses. ³⁰^(AD)He set the laver between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar, and put water there for washing; ³¹and Moses, Aaron, and his sons would ^(AE)wash their hands and their feet with water from it. ³²Whenever they went into the tabernacle of meeting, and when they came near the altar, they washed, ^(AF)as the Lord had commanded Moses. ³³^(AG)And he raised up the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the screen of the court gate. So Moses ^(AH)finished the work.

The Cloud and the Glory^(AI)

³⁴^(AJ)Then the ^(AK)cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the ^(AL)glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. ³⁵And Moses ^(AM)was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. ³⁶^(AN)Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would ^[d]go onward in all their journeys. ³⁷But ^(AO)if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. ³⁸For ^(AP)the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
