Das Lied Moses
15 Damals sangen Mose und die Israeliten dieses Lied zu Ehren des Herrn:
»Ich will dem Herrn singen, denn er ist mächtig und erhaben,
Pferde und Reiter warf er ins Meer!
2 Der Herr ist meine Rettung und Kraft,
er lässt mich fröhlich singen.
Er ist mein Gott, ihn will ich preisen!
Er ist der Gott meines Vaters, ihn allein will ich ehren.
3 Der Herr ist ein mächtiger Kämpfer;
sein Name ist ›der Herr‹[a].
4 Die Streitwagen des Pharaos und sein Heer hat er ins Meer geschleudert.
Die besten Wagenkämpfer ließ er im Schilfmeer ertrinken.
5 Wasserfluten haben sie bedeckt,
wie Steine sind sie in der Tiefe versunken.
6 Herr, deine Hand tut große Wunder,
ja, deine gewaltige Hand zerschmettert den Feind!
7 Du bist mächtig und erhaben.
Du stürzt diejenigen zu Boden, die sich gegen dich erheben.
Dein glühender Zorn trifft sie und verbrennt sie wie Stroh.
8 Zornerfüllt hast du aufs Meer geblasen,
da türmten sich die Wassermassen,
die Fluten standen wie ein Wall,
die Meerestiefen wie eine Mauer!
9 Der Feind prahlte: ›Los, wir verfolgen sie!
Wir holen sie ein und machen reiche Beute!
Jeder bekommt, was er haben will.
Wir ziehen das Schwert und zwingen sie in die Knie!‹
10 Aber als dein Atem blies, verschlang sie das Meer.
Wie Blei versanken sie in den mächtigen Wogen.
11 Herr, wer unter allen Göttern ist dir gleich?
Wer ist wie du, herrlich und heilig?
Wer vollbringt so große, furchterregende Taten?
Wer tut Wunder – so wie du?
12 Als du deinen rechten Arm ausstrecktest,
verschlang die Erde unsere Feinde.
13 Voller Liebe führst du uns, dein Volk, das du gerettet hast!
Mit großer Macht leitest du uns
bis zu dem heiligen Ort, an dem du wohnst.
14 Wenn die anderen Völker hören, was geschehen ist, erschrecken sie.
Angst überfällt die Philister,
15 und die Fürsten Edoms sind entsetzt.
Moabs Herrscher fangen an zu zittern,
und die Bewohner Kanaans verlieren allen Mut.
16 Furcht und Schrecken packt sie.
Sie sehen deine große Macht, Herr, und stehen wie versteinert da,
bis dein Volk vorbeigezogen ist, ja, bis das Volk, das du freigekauft hast, vorbeigezogen ist!
17 Du bringst sie zu deinem Berg und pflanzt sie dort ein,
an dem Ort, den du dir als Wohnung gewählt hast.
Dort ist dein Heiligtum, o Herr,
das du mit eigener Hand errichtet hast!
18 Der Herr ist König für immer und ewig!«
19 Die Soldaten des Pharaos waren den Israeliten mit Pferden und Streitwagen ins Meer gefolgt. Da hatte der Herr das Wasser zurückfluten lassen, und die Wogen hatten sie verschlungen. Die Israeliten aber waren trockenen Fußes mitten durchs Meer gezogen. 20 Die Prophetin Mirjam, Aarons Schwester, nahm ihr Tamburin zur Hand. Auch die anderen Frauen schlugen ihr Tamburin, und zusammen tanzten sie im Reigen. 21 Mirjam sang ihnen vor:
»Singt dem Herrn, denn er ist mächtig und erhaben!
Pferde und Reiter warf er ins Meer!«
Auf dem Weg zum Berg Sinai (Kapitel 15,22–18,27)
Ich bin der Herr, der euch heilt!
22 Mose ließ die Israeliten vom Schilfmeer aufbrechen. Sie zogen los und kamen in die Wüste Schur. Drei Tage lang waren sie hier unterwegs, ohne Wasser zu finden. 23 Als sie endlich die Oase von Mara erreichten, war das Wasser dort so bitter, dass sie es nicht trinken konnten. Darum heißt dieser Ort Mara (»Bitterkeit«).
24 »Was sollen wir nun trinken?«, fragten die Leute Mose vorwurfsvoll. 25 Mose flehte den Herrn um Hilfe an, und der Herr zeigte ihm ein Stück Holz. Als Mose es ins Wasser warf, wurde das Wasser genießbar.
In Mara gab Gott seinem Volk Gesetze und Regeln, nach denen sie leben sollten, und stellte sie auf die Probe. 26 Er sagte zu ihnen: »Hört auf mich, den Herrn, euren Gott, und lebt so, wie es mir gefällt! Haltet euch an meine Gebote und Weisungen! Wenn ihr das tut, werdet ihr keine der Krankheiten bekommen, mit denen ich die Ägypter bestraft habe. Denn ich bin der Herr, der euch heilt!«
27 Dann brachen die Israeliten wieder auf und erreichten Elim, eine Oase mit zwölf Quellen und siebzig Palmen. Dort schlugen sie ihr Lager auf.

15 Då sjöng Mose och Israels barn denna lovsång till Herren:
"Jag vill lovsjunga Herren,

2 Herren är min starkhet och min lovsång,
han blev min frälsning.
Han är min Gud, jag vill prisa honom,
min faders Gud, jag vill upphöja honom.
3 Herren är en stridsman,
Herren är hans namn.
4 Faraos vagnar och här kastade han i havet,
hans utvalda krigsmän dränktes i Röda havet.
5 Djupen övertäckte dem,
de sjönk till botten som sten.
6 Din högra hand, Herre, härlig i sin kraft,
din högra hand, Herre, krossade fienden.
7 I din stora höghet slog du ner dina motståndare,
du släppte loss din vrede,
den förtärde dem som strå.
8 För en fnysning från din näsa dämdes vattnen upp,
böljorna reste sig som en mur,
vattenströmmarna stelnade i havets djup.
9 Fienden sade: Jag skall förfölja dem,
jag skall hinna upp dem,
jag skall utskifta byte,
släcka min hämnd på dem.
Jag skall dra mitt svärd,
min hand skall förgöra dem.
10 Du andades på dem och havet övertäckte dem,
de sjönk som bly i de väldiga vattnen.
11 Vem är som du bland gudarna, Herre?
Vem är som du, härlig i helighet,
värdig förundran under lovsång,
du som gör under.
12 Du räckte ut din högra hand,
och jorden uppslukade dem.
13 Du ledde med din nåd det folk som du återlöst,
du förde dem med din makt till din heliga boning.
14 Folken hörde det och darrade,
ångest grep Filisteens inbyggare.
15 Då förskräcktes Edoms furstar,
Moabs hövdingar bävade,
alla Kanaans inbyggare smälte av ångest.
16 Över dem föll skräck och fruktan.
Inför din mäktiga arm stod de som förstenade,
till dess ditt folk hade dragit förbi, Herre,
till dess det hade dragit förbi,
det folk som du hade köpt.
17 Du för dem in och planterar dem
på din arvedels berg,
på den plats, Herre,
som du har gjort till din boning,
i den helgedom, Herre, som dina händer berett.
18 Herren skall regera alltid och för evigt."
19 När Faraos hästar med vagnar och ryttare hade kommit ner i havet, lät Herren havets vatten vända tillbaka över dem. Men Israels barn gick mitt igenom havet på torr mark.
20 Och profetissan Mirjam, Arons syster, tog en tamburin i handen, och alla kvinnorna följde henne med tamburiner och dansade. 21 Mirjam sjöng för dem:
"Lovsjung Herren, ty högt är han upphöjd.
Häst och ryttare störtade han i havet."
Det bittra vattnet i Mara
22 Därefter lät Mose Israels barn bryta upp från Röda havet, och de drog ut i öknen Shur. Under tre dagar vandrade de i öknen utan att finna vatten. 23 Sedan kom de till Mara, men de kunde inte dricka vattnet där, eftersom det var bittert. Därför kallade de platsen Mara.[a] 24 Då knotade folket mot Mose och sade: "Vad skall vi dricka?" 25 Men han ropade till Herren, och Herren visade honom ett slags trä. Han kastade det i vattnet och då blev vattnet sött. Där förelade han folket lag och rätt, och där satte han det på prov. 26 Han sade: "Om du hör Herrens, din Guds, röst och noga lyssnar till hans bud och håller alla hans stadgar, skall jag inte lägga på dig någon av de sjukdomar som jag lade på egyptierna, ty jag är Herren, din läkare.
27 Sedan kom de till Elim, där det fanns tolv vattenkällor och sjuttio palmer. Och de slog läger där vid vattnet.

2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6 Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Bitter Waters Made Sweet
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of (AY)Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no (AZ)water. 23 Now when they came to (BA)Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called [d]Marah. 24 And the people (BB)complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25 So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. (BC)When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.
There He (BD)made a statute and an [e]ordinance for them, and there (BE)He tested them, 26 and said, (BF)“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the (BG)diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord (BH)who heals you.”
27 (BI)Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.
