³ And at the end of the seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went to appeal to the king for her house and her land.

³ And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ ⁴ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ^(A)‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, ⁵ yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”

⁶ And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”

²⁶ Now as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!”

¹³ And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to ^(A)the commander of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

⁴ When the woman of Tekoa came to the king, ^(A)she fell on her face to the ground and paid homage and said, ^(B)“Save me, O king.”
