24 So they came to the camp of Israel. And the Israelites arose and struck the Moabites. So they fled before them; and they went forward [a]into the land, striking down the Moabites. 25 (A)Thus they [b]tore down the cities; and each one threw a stone on every piece of good land and filled it. And they stopped all the springs of water and felled all the good trees, until in (B)Kir-hareseth they let its stones remain; however, the slingers went about it and struck it. 26 Then the king of Moab saw that the battle was too strong for him, so he took with him 700 men who drew swords, to break through to the king of Edom; but they could not.

They stopped up all the springs and cut down every good tree. Only Kir Hareseth(A) was left with its stones in place, but men armed with slings surrounded it and attacked it.

26 When the king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through to the king of Edom, but they failed.
