³ “Remember,^(A) Lord, how I have walked^(B) before you faithfully^(C) and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

²² Then I commanded the Levites to purify themselves and go and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy.

Remember^(A) me for this also, my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love.

¹⁴ Remember^(A) me for this, my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.

¹⁹ Remember^(A) me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people.

³ He did what was right^(A) in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David^(B) had done. ⁴ He removed^(C) the high places,^(D) smashed the sacred stones^(E) and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake^(F) Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.^[a])

⁵ Hezekiah trusted^(G) in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. ⁶ He held fast^(H) to the Lord and did not stop following him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses.

⁶ Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.^(A)

³¹ I also made provision for contributions of wood^(A) at designated times, and for the firstfruits.^(B)

Remember^(C) me with favor, my God.

²¹ Dear friends,^(A) if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God^{(B) 22} and receive from him anything we ask,^(C) because we keep his commands^(D) and do what pleases him.^(E)
