²⁴ He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse^(A) on them in the name^(B) of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.

⁹ Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit,^(A) looked straight at Elymas and said, ¹⁰ “You are a child of the devil^(B) and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?^{(C) 11} Now the hand of the Lord is against you.^(D) You are going to be blind for a time, not even able to see the light of the sun.”^(E)

Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

⁹ Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord?^(A) Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”

⁵ When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died.^(A) And great fear^(B) seized all who heard what had happened.

¹⁷ “Therefore this is what the Lord says:

²⁰ Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!^(A)

²¹ Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi,^(A) look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

¹⁴ Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.
