³ He followed the ways of the kings of Israel^(A) and even sacrificed his son^(B) in the fire, engaging in the detestable^(C) practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

Occult Practices

⁹ When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate^(A) the detestable ways^(B) of the nations there.

³ You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.^(A)
