The Fall of Israel

⁶ In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria ^(A)captured Samaria, ^(B)and he carried the Israelites away to Assyria ^(C)and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of ^(D)Gozan, and in the cities of ^(E)the Medes.

²⁶ So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of ^(A)Pul king of Assyria, the spirit of ^(B)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and he took them into exile, namely, the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them ^(C)to Halah, ^(D)Habor, Hara, and ^(E)the river Gozan, to this day.

⁶⁴ “And the Lord ^(A)will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and ^(B)there you shall serve other gods ^(C)of wood and stone, ^(D)which neither you nor your fathers have known.

^27 (A)and I will send you into exile beyond Damascus,” says the Lord, whose name is ^(B)the God of hosts.

¹⁰ and at the end of three years he took it. In the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken. ¹¹ The king of Assyria carried the Israelites away to Assyria and put them in ^(A)Halah, and on the ^(B)Habor, ^(C)the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,

²⁷ Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, ^(A)bringing upon it all the curses written in this book, ²⁸ and the Lord ^(B)uprooted them from their land in anger and fury and great wrath, and ^(C)cast them into another land, as they are this day.’
