³³ Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot.

^29 (A)Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, ^(B)counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, ^(C)and insulted the Spirit of grace?

Believers Are Salt and Light^(A)

¹³ “You are the salt of the earth; ^(B)but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

²⁶ ‘Surely I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,’ says the Lord, ^(A)‘and I will repay you ^[a]in this plot,’ says the Lord. Now therefore, take and throw him on the plot of ground, according to the word of the Lord.”

²⁰ And so it happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.

¹¹ So the men of his city, the elders and nobles who were inhabitants of his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.
