^28 (A)His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.

²⁴ So his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in his second chariot and brought him to Jerusalem. And he died and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. ^(A)All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

^30 (A)And his servants carried him dead in a chariot from ^(B)Megiddo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own tomb. ^(C)And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father's place.

²⁸ And they brought him upon horses, and he was buried with his fathers in the city of David.^[a]

²⁰ And ^(A)he sacrificed all the priests of the high places who were there, on the altars, ^(B)and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem.

¹⁹ And they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to ^(A)Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish and put him to death there. ²⁰ And they brought him on horses; and he was buried in Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

²¹ It was ^(A)Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of ^(B)Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, ^(C)and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
