² Now when you arrive at that place, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among ^(A)his associates, and take him to an inner room.

Joram of Israel Killed

¹⁴ So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, conspired against ^(A)Joram. (Now Joram had been defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, against Hazael king of Syria.

¹¹ Then Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did ^(A)this madman come to you?”

And he said to them, “You know the man and his babble.”

⁵ And when he arrived, there were the captains of the army sitting; and he said, “I have a message for you, Commander.”

Jehu said, “For which one of us?”

And he said, “For you, Commander.”

¹⁶ Also you shall anoint ^(A)Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And ^(B)Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. ^17 (C)It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will ^(D)kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, ^(E)Elisha will kill.

²⁰ So the watchman reported, saying, “He went up to them and is not coming back; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously!”

²⁵ And Micaiah said, “Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an ^(A)inner chamber to hide!”

³⁰ But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; then a wall fell on twenty-seven thousand of the men who were left.

And Ben-Hadad fled and went into the city, into an inner chamber.
