¹⁶ So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was laid up there; ^(A)and Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

^6 (A)Then he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And ^[a]Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

⁷ His going to Joram ^(B)was God’s occasion for Ahaziah’s ^[b]downfall; for when he arrived, ^(C)he went out with ^[c]Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, ^(D)whom the Lord had anointed to ^[d]cut off the house of Ahab.

²⁸ Now he went ^(A)with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at ^(B)Ramoth Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram. ²⁹ Then ^(C)King Joram went back to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which the Syrians had inflicted on him at ^[a]Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. ^(D)And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
