²⁶ Now as the king of Israel was walking on the city wall, a woman cried out to him, “Help, my lord king!”

⁴ When the woman of Tekoa came^[a] to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and did obeisance and said, “Help, O king!”^(A)

²⁸ shouting, “Fellow Israelites,^[a] help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this place; more than that, he has actually brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”^(A)

³ In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my accuser.’
