¹² And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

²⁸ but ^(A)there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar ^(B)what will be in the latter days. Your dream and ^(C)the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these: ²⁹ To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, ^(D)and he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be. ³⁰ But ^(E)as for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that ^(F)you may know the thoughts of your mind.

⁹ But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are going down there.” ¹⁰ And the king of Israel sent to the place about which the man of God told him. Thus he used to warn him, so that he saved himself there more than once or twice.

⁹ “O Belteshazzar, ^(A)chief of the magicians, because I know that ^(B)the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no ^(C)mystery is too difficult for you, tell me ^(D)the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation. ^10 (E)The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and ^(F)behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great. ^11 (G)The tree grew and became strong, and its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth. ^12 (H)Its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. ^(I)The beasts of the field found shade under it, and ^(J)the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

¹³ “I saw in ^(K)the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold, ^(L)a watcher, ^(M)a holy one, came down from heaven. ¹⁴ He ^(N)proclaimed aloud and said thus: ^(O)‘Chop down the tree and ^(P)lop off its branches, ^(Q)strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. ^(R)Let the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches. ¹⁵ But leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, amid the tender grass of the field. Let him be wet with the dew of heaven. Let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth. ¹⁶ Let his mind be changed from a man's, and let a beast's mind be given to him; ^(S)and let seven periods of time ^(T)pass over him. ¹⁷ The sentence is by the decree of ^(U)the watchers, the decision by the word of ^(V)the holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High ^(W)rules the kingdom of men ^(X)and gives it to whom he will and ^(Y)sets over it the lowliest of men.’ ¹⁸ This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw. And you, O ^(Z)Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because ^(AA)all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation, but you are able, for ^(AB)the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”

⁴⁷ The king answered and said to Daniel, “Truly, your ^(A)God is God of gods and ^(B)Lord of kings, and ^(C)a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”

^23 (A)“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? ^24 (B)Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. ^(C)Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
