²³ So Naaman said, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him.

⁵⁴ lying in wait for Him, ^[a]and ^(A)seeking to catch Him in something He might say, ^[b]that they might accuse Him.

^6 (A)The ^[a]burden against the beasts of the South.

¹⁰ So it was, whenever they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s ^(A)scribe^[a] and the high priest came up and ^[b]put it in bags, and counted the money that was found in the house of the Lord.

³ Then one said, ^(A)“Please consent to go with your servants.”

And he answered, “I will go.”

¹⁶ But he said, ^(A)“As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, ^(B)I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

¹⁷ But when they urged him till he was ^(A)ashamed, he said, “Send them!” Therefore they sent fifty men, and they searched for three days but did not find him.

⁷ So the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, “Notice, please, and see how this man seeks trouble, for he sent to me for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold; and I did not deny him.”
