⁹ And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy ^(A)man of God who is continually passing our way.

²⁴ And the woman said to Elijah, ^(A)“Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.”

The Woman Who Fears the Lord

⁷ She came and told the ^(A)man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

⁸ but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, ^(A)and disciplined.

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and ^(A)God also, ^(B)how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.

¹⁶ In the same way, let your light shine before others, so ^(A)that^[a] they may see your good works and ^(B)give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, ^(A)“What have you against me, O ^(B)man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to remembrance and to cause the death of my son!”

3 Likewise, wives, ^(A)be subject to your own husbands, so that ^(B)even if some do not obey the word, ^(C)they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,
