⁶ When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” But he said to her, “There are no more.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

²⁰ And all ate and were filled, and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full.

¹⁹ Then the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck down Aram until you had made an end of it, but now you will strike down Aram only three times.”^(A)

¹⁹ And everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.^(A)

¹² When they were satisfied, he told his disciples, “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost.”

³⁷ And all of them ate and were filled, and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

⁵⁸ And he did not do many deeds of power there, because of their unbelief.

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith, let it be done to you.”

Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication

¹² Then Solomon^[a] stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands.^{(A) 13} Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high and had set it in the court, and he stood on it. Then he knelt on his knees in the presence of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.^(B)

⁴³ But his servant said, “How can I set this before a hundred people?” So he repeated, “Give it to the people and let them eat, for thus says the Lord: They shall eat and have some left.” ⁴⁴ He set it before them; they ate and had some left, according to the word of the Lord.^(A)
