⁴ Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.”

⁵ And he asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, ^(A)“Seven.” ⁶ And he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and ^(B)having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. ⁷ And they had a few small fish. And ^(C)having blessed them, he said that these also should be set before them. ⁸ And ^(D)they ate and were satisfied. And they took up the broken pieces left over, ^(E)seven baskets full. ⁹ And there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away.

⁶ But when you pray, ^(A)go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. ^(B)And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

^20 (A)Now to ^(B)him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, ^(C)according to the power at work within us,

⁴⁰ But Peter ^(A)put them all outside, and ^(B)knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body ^(C)he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

¹¹ Jesus then took the loaves, and ^(A)when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.

⁷ Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸ And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. ⁹ When the master of the feast tasted ^(A)the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom

³⁷ But he answered them, ^(A)“You give them something to eat.” And ^(B)they said to him, ^(C)“Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii^[a] worth of bread and give it to them to eat?” ³⁸ And he said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, ^(D)“Five, and two fish.” ³⁹ Then he commanded them all to sit down in groups on the green grass. ⁴⁰ So they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties. ⁴¹ And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he ^(E)looked up to heaven and ^(F)said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all. ⁴² And they all ate and were satisfied. ⁴³ And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. ⁴⁴ And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.

⁴⁰ And they laughed at him. But he ^(A)put them all outside and took the child's father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was.
