³³ So he went in and ^(A)shut the door behind the two of them ^(B)and prayed to the Lord.

⁶ But when you pray, ^(A)go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. ^(B)And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

⁴ Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.”

The Prayer of Faith

¹³ Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him ^(A)sing praise. ¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, ^(B)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And ^(C)if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(D)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(E)that you may be healed. ^(F)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^{[a] 17} Elijah was a man ^(G)with a nature like ours, and ^(H)he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for ^(I)three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. ^18 (J)Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

⁴⁰ But Peter ^(A)put them all outside, and ^(B)knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body ^(C)he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

⁵¹ And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except ^(A)Peter and ^(B)John and James, and the father and mother of the child.

²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?” ^21 (A)Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, let this child's life^[a] come into him again.”

⁴¹ So they took away the stone. And Jesus ^(A)lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. ^42 (B)I knew that you always hear me, but I said this ^(C)on account of the people standing around, ^(D)that they may believe that you sent me.”

²⁰ As soon as they entered Samaria, Elisha said, “O Lord, ^(A)open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” So the Lord opened their eyes and they saw, and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
