⁷ And ^(A)the king of Egypt did not come out of his land anymore, for ^(B)the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the River Euphrates.

^(B)Concerning the army of Pharaoh Necho, king of Egypt, which was by the River Euphrates in Carchemish, and which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon ^(C)defeated in the ^(D)fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

⁵ Then ^(A)Pharaoh’s army came up from Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they departed from Jerusalem.

⁶ Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, ⁷ “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Thus you shall say to the king of Judah, ^(B)who sent you to Me to inquire of Me: “Behold, Pharaoh’s army which has come up to help you will return to Egypt, to their own land.

¹⁸ On the same day the Lord ^(A)made a covenant with Abram, saying:

^(B)“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—

⁵ the border shall turn from Azmon ^(A)to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.

²¹ So ^(A)Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from ^(B)the^[a] River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. ^(C)They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

⁴ From there it passed ^(A)toward Azmon and went out to the Brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your southern border.
