⁶ And he brought out ^(A)the Asherah from the house of the Lord, outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, ^(B)and burned it at the brook Kidron ^(C)and beat it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves ^(D)of the common people.

⁴ And they chopped down the altars of the Baals in his presence, and he cut down the ^(A)incense altars that stood above them. And he broke in pieces the ^(B)Asherim and the carved and the metal images, and he made dust of them and ^(C)scattered it over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.

¹⁵ Moreover, the altar at Bethel, the high place erected ^(A)by Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ^(B)who made Israel to sin, ^(C)that altar with the high place he pulled down and burned,^[a] reducing it to dust. He also burned the Asherah.

² while ^(A)their children remember their altars and their ^(B)Asherim, ^(C)beside every green tree and on the high hills,

⁷ And the carved image of ^(A)Asherah that he had made he set in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, ^(B)and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever.

²⁷ And they demolished the ^(A)pillar of Baal, and demolished the house of Baal, and made it ^(B)a latrine to this day.

³³ And Ahab made an ^(A)Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger ^(B)than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

²³ For they also built for themselves ^(A)high places ^(B)and pillars and ^(C)Asherim on every high hill and ^(D)under every green tree,
