¹⁶ After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, ruler of half the district of Beth-zur, repaired to a point opposite ^(A)the tombs of David, as far as ^(B)the artificial pool, and as far as the house of the mighty men.

³² Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his good deeds, behold, they are written ^(A)in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, ^(B)in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

⁴ A great many people were gathered, and they stopped all the springs and ^(A)the brook that flowed through the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find much water?”

⁹ and you saw that ^(A)the breaches of the city of David were many. ^(B)You collected the waters of the lower pool, ¹⁰ and you counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall. ^11 (C)You made a reservoir between ^(D)the two walls for the water of ^(E)the old pool. But ^(F)you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

³⁰ This same Hezekiah ^(A)closed the upper outlet of the waters of ^(B)Gihon and directed them down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.
