¹⁷ The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon.^(A) Nothing will be left, says the Lord.

¹³ As the Lord had declared,^(A) Nebuchadnezzar removed the treasures^(B) from the temple of the Lord and from the royal palace, and cut up the gold articles^(C) that Solomon^(D) king of Israel had made for the temple of the Lord.

¹⁰ In the spring, King Nebuchadnezzar sent for him and brought him to Babylon,^(A) together with articles of value from the temple of the Lord, and he made Jehoiachin’s uncle,^[a] Zedekiah, king over Judah and Jerusalem.

¹⁷ The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars,^(A) the movable stands^(B) and the bronze Sea^(C) that were at the temple of the Lord and they carried all the bronze to Babylon.^{(D) 18} They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls,^(E) dishes and all the bronze articles used in the temple service.^{(F) 19} The commander of the imperial guard took away the basins, censers,^(G) sprinkling bowls, pots, lampstands,^(H) dishes^(I) and bowls used for drink offerings^(J)—all that were made of pure gold or silver.^(K)

²¹ yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the things that are left in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem: ²² ‘They will be taken^(A) to Babylon and there they will remain until the day^(B) I come for them,’ declares the Lord. ‘Then I will bring^(C) them back and restore them to this place.’”

¹⁸ He carried to Babylon all the articles^(A) from the temple of God, both large and small, and the treasures of the Lord’s temple and the treasures of the king and his officials.

¹⁹ I will break down your stubborn pride^(A) and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.^(B)
