²⁴ And he turned around, and when he saw them, ^(A)he cursed them in the name of the Lord. And two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys.

⁹ But Saul, who was also called Paul, ^(A)filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him ¹⁰ and said, “You ^(B)son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and ^(C)villainy, will you not stop ^(D)making crooked ^(E)the straight paths of the Lord? ¹¹ And now, behold, ^(F)the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking ^(G)people to lead him by the hand.

⁹ But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together ^(A)to test ^(B)the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

⁵ When Ananias heard these words, he ^(A)fell down and breathed his last. And ^(B)great fear came upon all who heard of it.

^17 (A)Therefore thus says the Lord:

²⁰ But Peter said to him, ^(A)“May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God ^(B)with money!

²¹ And Peter remembered and said to him, ^(A)“Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.”

¹⁴ And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.
